Exam format

Hi everyone

Looking for a little advice!

I'm using the Saunders book to study my ass off, but I'm wondering if the format the practice questions are in are the same formatting used in the actual exam?

Also; has anyone found that magical probe to implant medications and all the side effects into my brain yet?!?!

No? Oh hell! :banghead:

Hi! Same question I have been wondering about. Have been studying Saunder's and the Q's are getting a little bit too easy (!!!!) - frankly I am XXXX scared that the actual exam will be completely different... I'd hate to vomit right there and then...:uhoh3:

i have used saunders too before, and it is more on content, and yeah, they did seem easier after a while. My scores were also higher. However, i suggest you use kaplan questions and the book. The kaplan questions are the closest to the nclex questions. They're more on using critical thinking with content, teaching, assessment, prioritization, etc. just like the nclex. They're also more difficult. i have yet to try ncsbn online and the CAT mosby. has anyone tried any of them? are their questions also similar to the way nclex is written?

I used Saunders exclusively when I was studying for the NCLEX. Did about 100 questions/day.

About a week before the exam I started using the Mosby CAT online. The Mosby CAT really helped a lot, it gave me an idea of how the CAT works and how the NCLEX would be. Nothing is like the NCLEX though. Just keep doing the practice questions and you'll be fine.

As far as medications go ...... don't worry about memorizing EVERY single medication and their side effects. Just classify them into categories. Those ending in -lol are beta blockers (monitor for decreased heartrate and hypotension); pril = ace inhibitors; etc. Know the major drugs in each category, and then know the major side effects for each category.

Good luck to you guys, you'll do just fine!!

Hi!

Kaplan Q bank - 1000 Q's only? You who have been there, do you think it's worthwhile? I have got the content plus CD / Saunder's but perhaps I will need to be 'exposed' to harder Q's? Two months to NCLEX.
