Everest College RN Program

U.S.A. Nevada

Published

Hello,

Has anyone heard of any feedback regarding Everests RN program? Has anyone attended this school for RN in Henderson?

Thanks!

My original cohort started with 40 but I had some trouble with a clinical so I ended up in the next cohort which had also started with 40 but we ended up graduating 10...many students had trouble with Adult II (Med-Surg II) or Advanced (Critical Care) because the teachers for those classes are very strict with their requirements. The average graduating class is between 10-15. Don't let that stop you though, it is not that much different than CSN or UNLV...they just start with more students. I just didn't want to give my real name on the message board but if you would like it for when you call for information (something like xxx referred me to your program) then just ask :) I found the information because I first did the Medical Assistant program at Everest and then decided to just go for it and get into the RN program.

Not a problem. I sent an all nurses friend Request to you earlier. I have a bachelors degree (non nursing) and a&p 1&2 completed. Since the 2 year program includes all pre reqs , do you know or know anyone that was able to shorten program length based off of previous course work? Where does Everest do clinicals at? And are the staff friendly to Everest students?

I saw that request and accepted it. I believe you can test out of A&P if they were taken within a certain period of time. I also have a Bachelor's degree but all that transferred in for me was General Psychology since it had been over 10 years since my degree. You might have less gen eds to take if you have more recent transcripts. The clinicals are done primarily at St. Rose Siena, although there are other sites as well (nursing homes, Mountain View, Psych facilities, and community sites like Safe Kids and Opportunity Village). Most of the nurses love to have students but there are a few to look out for especially during the Pediatric part of Maternal Child. The charge nurse at St. Rose on Peds hates students and won't let us do anything so that clinical is a waste of energy.

I sent you a pm

I sent one back :) Let me know what happens.

NavyGirl8701, did you decide to go with Everest College or are you trying for CSN??

I met with an advisor and went to the info session.. I'm still debating.. my only concern right now is that I've already taken anatomy and physiology and barely passed so I do t know if I could test out of them to not have to repeat them again at everestí ½í¸ Either way I still have to schedule my entrance exam .. so still pondering

Did you take your nclex? How's your job hunt going?

yea I took a and p already but they are over 5 yrs. I told my admissions rep I will try for the April start. I'm considering testing out of them but still debating. I would say atleast try :)

Hi NavyGirl8701, have you considered going to Everest? I just had my Nursing Panel interview :nailbiting:

Good luck iam_kathryne! Do you have any classes to transfer?

I went to the info session but was kinda put off by possibly having to re take A/P.. there's NO WAY I can do that again
