Hey guys! Just wanted to start a page for the Fall 2022 cycle at EVC. This is my first time applying and I'm hoping to apply with 85 points. Curious if this is competitive compared to previous years? It'd also be nice if y'all can share your scores ?

Hey! I’m planning on working part time, even if I get into ICCP. Talked to my boss and she’s letting me do morning phlebotomy rounds so I’ll probably head to school right after.. I know it’s going to be a tough 2 years but I’m ready to tackle it!!
can't speak to EVC, but I just started at SJSU this sem! they told us not to work (more than 5-10hr/week). I'm only a month in, but have been working 15h/week and have gotten involved with a few student orgs as well. been able to maintain a's/a-'s on quizzes so far and am ahead in all of my classes. I think if you're ready to tackle it, you're going to do great! be proactive about academic questions you have, and reach out to classmates/professors for support if you are unsure. ultimately, you know yourself and what you can handle ❤️

My boss is super lenient as well so I’m glad we have those perks! Just want to see if someone else is on the same page, we got this!!

Thank you for this! Makes me feel more confident that it can be done!! Congratulations on SJSU!

I submitted my app yesterday. I didn’t find the questions to be that much different from USF, CSUEB, or even SMU. The questions were straightforward and basic interview questions in my opinion. The hardest part was having so much to say with such a small word count. 150 words is barely a complex paragraph…if even that. I wish we had at least 300 words like other schools. I had to work with what they gave us though. I feel like the hardest part was breaking down my complex answers, to fit the word count. I believe I couldn’t truly portray my character with how limited I felt. I’m hoping for the best! I went to writing centers and worked on it for at least two hours everyday since we got the app. I even had some of my charges and MD’s read them to give feedback.

I just realized I didn’t get into the ICCP program ? good luck to you guys!!

What do you mean now no idea what to do? You don’t want to be in the program if you aren’t a part of ICCP program?

Congratulations! I was also placed on the accepted roster and am currently deciding whether or not to apply for the ICCP program. To start, go get your CSU GE Certification ASAP even if you are unsure whether or not to apply. Without it you are unable to apply. A&R has a 2-4 week processing period from time of request. After looking at the proposed academic roadmap, 3/5 semesters are only 12 units for both schools; the other two semesters being 15 units. While this seems completely doable, especially if you’ve done this with GE courses, you got to remember this is nursing school. The EVC courses alone are incredibly difficult and demanding. Our courses are graded at a higher caliber and have a completely different grading system. Nursing school will be a big adjustment for us all, but we will definitely get through the short 2 years. I say apply, because what’s the pain in just trying? You can always turn down the SJSU offer, if accepted. Both programs are going to give us the title RN, so I guess it just depends if you feel the need to get your BSN sooner.
