EVC Nursing 2022

Published

Hey guys! Just wanted to start a page for the Fall 2022 cycle at EVC. This is my first time applying and I'm hoping to apply with 85 points. Curious if this is competitive compared to previous years? It'd also be nice if y'all can share your scores ?

Has anyone received an email about their alternate number?

Did anyone receive the email about which cohort they’re placed in?

I start in Spring!

I was originally interested in the ICCP, but then I got scared it would be too heavy for me to go to school and work at the same time (I didn’t save enough money to not work while in school). But good luck to everyone who got into the ICCP program as well!

The application cycle was for fall 2022 and Spring 2023. I think most of the people who are starting in fall are in the ICCP program.

Me too.

but like Caraghan said, the people that were approved for the ICCP may be starting in the fall and everything else is randomized. It doesn’t mean anything bad.

I would have also liked to start in the fall, but at least it gives me more time. I’ll have a 1.5 “gap year” before I start the program ?

If any of you have a chance to look at the ICCP cost breakdown yet? I just had a look at the cost for this program. It says the cost at SJSU is $2,720 per semester for 1-6 units. Does it mean even if I take 3 units for the first semester, I will still have to pay 2,720$? I'm crying when thinking about the tuition fee. If I do the RN to BSN after finishing the ADN at Evergreen, it would cost less, is that correct?

I'm confused on this too. Every college/university charges tuition based on per unit, but the breakdown kinda assumes that tuition is charged on part time versus full time. I looked at SJSU and they have two conflicting statements. One page says tuition is 350 a unit then the other is based on the status as mentioned on the breakdown. Keep in mind that the cost given is for basic registration fees. It may be possible that this doesn't include unit tuition. Personally, my job requires me to have a BSN so I want to finish it as quick as I can. It all depends on how fast you want to obtain your BSN. If you are willing to take the longer route then go for RN to BSN. All RN-to-BSN programs are different costs so it'd be difficult to say which is cheaper.

Update!

SJSU charges tuition on unit groupings as given at https://catalog.sjsu.edu/content.php?catoid=12&navoid=4063

I believe even if you still take less than 6 units, you will be charged the full amount for that grouping which is $1665. The additional student fees make the total to $2720, the same as the ICCP breakdown

Thank you for the information.  I also wanted to finish the BSN as soon as I can too.
