I am thinking of working towards getting my RN at a community college. The most logical one would be Essex, however I was wondering if I could get some detailed feedback from any curent/allumni students? I have read about the "lack of Support" and other negative imput. What I am wondering is this with the teaching techniques, professors, or what? If it is the administrators is it tolerable in order to get through the program? Or do u feel like it lessoned your experience/education?
Any feedback or personal stories/examples would be appreciated!
Thanks so much!

Hi,
You will hear good and bad about all the different programs and I'll be honest, with the competition in this area to get into nursing school I would apply to several and if you are fortunate enough to be offered more than one spot narrow it down from there. For example my LPN class had over 400 applicants for 40 spots and I have heard that the RN program is even more competitive. Good luck.

If i were you, i'd listen to what jules is saying. I know RN at the comm. coll level is super competitive. So don't throw all your eggs in one basket.

I have heard good things about Essex! I mean you will always hear biased info and bad experiences, it depends on who you talk to.
Save your money and apply!
[ ps. I think I am applying there as well! ]

I need advice....What should one do if they are 36 yrs old, high school degree and very intrested in starting nursing school? I live in Baltimore County, so Essex, Dundalk would be my closest schools to apply to. Thank you. Tina
Hi Tina,
Dundalk has the LPN program which I have heard good things about and if you need to work while you continue in school thats a great option, imo. Both have stiff competition so I'd be sure to focus and do as good as you can in your pre-reqs. They have informative websites with the classes you need etc. Good luck!
