Erwin LPN program

Published

Hi Everyone,

I'm due to start the LPN program at Erwin in Tampa. Does

anyone know if you have to take the NET test as part of the class?:)

Thanks. March is fine with me, as it gives me an extra couple of months to save money and an extra couple months to TRY to sell my condo....and then move back in with mom.

Since I got my 2nd choice and there are about 65 students per class, my lottery number must have been between 66 and 120.

congratulation and Good Luck:yeah::up::bow:

I was placed on the alternative list, which means i really didn't get in. So i am trying to see if there is anywhere else i can go. I am applying to golf cost which has an LPN program and i am also applying to Everest University which has an RN program. I am hoping that i get in one of them.

Please Pray for me

I wouldn't worry about being on the alternate list. They told us in orientation if you got placed on the list you'd most likely get in due to confirmed cancels.

Hey Guys! I am glad I found you here! I recognize NewGoal from HCC's forum! I got my acceptance to Erwin and got my first choice, August 09, how in the world did that happen? I think the teas must have screwed many people over! However, I'm glad that each one of us will be starting Erwin's program at one time or another! Good luck! I hear the program is quite rigorous but phenominal!

NewGoal RN did your daughter find out anything yet?

Very cool...we March folk can use you as a resource for what to expect then. January was my 1st choice but March is fine. August was my 3rd choice....getting funding this soon would have been an issue. This gives me time to save money. How did you do on the TEAS? I scored a 79.4%.

yep I willl def keep ya'll posted! I got a 74.5% overall......so we both fell into almost the same percentile. It's scary to imagine how everyone else did because 70 is passing but my the inch of the nail! I'm grateful I did though. If we had like 3 months to study for it instead of 3 weeks, we would have blown the test out of the water! Now, one thing i will begin to do isbuy an actual teas study guide. I never bought a study guide and was surprised i passed! They will be using the TEAS exam throughout the program as you recall so lets begin studying it more in deby! Most schools use the HESI but they will use portions of the TEAS each semester I believe.

how many people actually took the TEAS exam? I know that originally there were like 560 or 565 applicants.....

560 was the number of people that actually applied. I'm assuming fewer than that a few less (though not much less) showed up for the orientation, and even fewer showed up for the TEAS. When they announced in our orientation that there wasn't going to be a night class there was a lot of grumbling.

Oh I see. Well, those who were looking to get into the night class are now able to apply for the 2010. I think the challenge would be for those seeking night classes is the competition because so many want night classes. All in all it's competitive anywhere you try to go. I just figured the LPN is a start for me and I can move forward when I finish. They say the program is quite fast so, we will have to keep on our toes!

I'm going to begin reviewing my math-metric fractions, ect. I want to be as prepared as I can for school! Do you know anything about an entrance exam of 3 dollars the day or registratioin/orientation? what is that about?
