Is anyone going to the ERI review session @ HFCC? Just wondering what you thought of it...
I went yesterday but left at lunch and didn't go back today. It was optional for me.

I am a student at WCCCD and it is not optional for us. We have representatives from our school to sign us in and out. It is a lot of information to review, I wish it was more about strategy for taking NCLEX instead of reviewing content. And on top to that, we have another 3 day review next week, that's mandatory.
I had a feeling it was mandatory for some schools.
I like the book, but if she is just going to read it, I can do that myself. Anyway, I hope the reviews help. good luck with the NCLEX!

How can they make this mandatory? I mean, you already graduated, right? It's not like they can call the State of Michigan and not have you take the NCLEX. So are they just "saying" it's mandatory to scare people or what? How are they enforcing this? Guess I want to know for next year...... :)

Doesn't the school have to endorse/approve your application to take the NCLEX-RN?
At WCCCD, we do not get our "release papers" from the schoool until we complete these reviews. We sign in and out each day. They are really for our benefit and after jumping through hoops for 2 years, it's not a big deal.
Supposedly they can not send your transcripts to the state.
At Schoolcraft it is optional. We had to take ERI tests after every class, and then in the last semester we were required to take about 25 tests (most of them over the break....nice break!) Then we had to take the predictor test by the end of the semester, and they would not release your grade until you passed. They gave us the ERI books the last day and gave us the opportunity to sign up for the class, which is included in our tuition. A lot of students signed up for Kaplan instead, which is doing a review right at the school.
I hope it was at least helpful to you all and not a waste of time. The woman was really annoying me.

The lady on the second and third day spoke entirely too fast and disagreed with a lot of the right answers. So yes, that was a tad annoying.
Ha she was one of our instructors...she talks very fast all the time.
