"I realize that if it weren't for the clinic type of patient most ER's would close down"
Nope, the most rude folks where I work are on Medicaid We don't even break even on the visit with poor reimbursement. I always want to thank them for allowing me to work so they can have nothing better to do than come to the ER at 2 a.m.
OK Got it Wild.....I am behind your back 100%!!!!! CEN35 (Rick)
PS- Hey ummlast poster as far as medicaid? Did you know medicaid pays better than your insurance carriers? That is a fact. In our hospital system (4 hospitals). The hopspital that gets paid the best dollar for dollar, is the one on the indigient area with all the medicaid payees. In my hospital, which is like 93% insurance paid....we are the worst at collecting.
We get reimbeursed .43 on the dollar, where as that other hospital in the downtown portion of the city, gets reimbursed .59 on the dollar. It's not because people are paying cash either. Medicaid are your best customers.
