Enrolled Nurse working in the USA

Published

Does anyone know what the process is to work as an EN in the US. I know that a Licensed Practical Nurse is the equivalent to an Enrolled Nurse in the US, but I am not sure what needs to happen to transfer the qualification.

Thanks so much

Where are you currently?

If looking for a license to work in the US and you have permission to work in the US then all you need to do is apply to the state Board of Nursing (BON) and meet their requirements for International trained nurse and then pass NCLEX PN.

If you do not have permission to work and live in the US and looking at this as a route to get there then be aware LPN will not meet immigration requirements and for work visa minimum requirement is BSN

LPN will not meet immigration or work visa requirements.

I will already have residency, I just want to know if my qualification will be able to be transferred over?

Then you need to contact the BON in your state and apply for a license.
