Enhanced Nursing Licensure Compact

U.S.A. Wisconsin

Published

Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I currently work in Iowa using my WI Compact license, but with the enhanced NLC, and WI currently without legislation to adopt the eNLC, I will be unable to work in Iowa after 1/20/17 unless: (1) I obtain a single-state in Iowa, or (2) WI enacts the eNLC prior to 1/20/17.

I have read that Howard Marklein and Nancy VanderMeer have been working with stakeholders to draft legislation; that on August 2nd, lawmakers asked their peers to support legislation to adopt the eNLC in Wisconsin, and "The lawmakers will formally introduce the compact legislation soon...No action is needed by Wisconsin nurses at this time.”

Bad Request

Where can I find updated information/timeline regarding the introduction of this 'compact legislation?'

What can "I" do as a Wisconsin nurse to show my support for adoption of the eNLC?

I too would like to know what is going on with this. I currently work in KY on my WI license.

Thank you all for contacting your legislator asking them to sign-on as co-sponsor of the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Eighty-seven (87) legislators signed on as co-sponsors! WNA will notify you of when it is assigned a bill number, the committee assigned to hold a public hearing, and the date of the public hearing. We will need your voice again soon!
