Endorsement process of a CA LVN to TX LVN

Published

Could someone let me know the process of endorsement of a CA LVN license to TX LVN?

Hey everyone hope this thread is still on going. I'm a CA LVN looking to endorse into Texas, but the TX BON website states a minimum requirement of actively working as a LVN for 10 years before they will endorse. Is this new? Seems like others had no issue with this requirement....

I think it means you can skip that requirement if you meet the ones above it. That requirement is part of Rule 217.5 and you don't have to meet it.

You read the website incorrectly. I copied and pasted this from the BON:

Requirements

Per Rule 217.5 (a) To be eligible for licensure by endorsement, you must have:

  1. graduated from an approved licensed practical nurse/vocational nurse (LPN/LVN) or registered nurse (RN) program
  2. taken the appropriate US exam, and
  3. have either worked in nursing or have taken the US NCLEX® exam sometime in the previous four years prior to the application

You are exempted from these aforementioned requirements if you've worked as an LVN for 10+ years. Is that clearer?
