Wonder if anyone can help, I have had my qualifications evaluated and sent to the Florida Board, they have contacted me to say the theory hours are missing from my EN training and they need my school of nursing to send them. Unfortunately they have no transcript for when I trained in 1982, so the school had sent a syllabus. I have contacted the school and I am awaiting a reply. Just wondered if anybody had any information on theory hours covered in Medical and Surgical nursing for Enrolled Nurses.

Yes i am now an RN8 and have taken my Bsc Nursing practice.

I had the same problem getting my transcripts from my EN training. I qualified in 1979 then converted to RGN in 1993.

My original School of Nursing had long since closed and NMC couldn't (or wouldn't) help me, but I was very fortunate to have someone at my Uni who sent an official Uni document to CGFNS and Florida BON stating what the hours were on the EN training I did.

Can't help with your question about number of Med/Surg hours, but I'm sure someone else will be along who might know. Having said that, they'll still want to see it on an official document.

Guess I was lucky as I had no problems with my EN transcripts and I did my training in 86, although did my conversion in 97

I have just found out my EN(G) 1988-90 transcript

Study

487 hours

(65 days)

Practical nursing

3300 hours

(440 days)

Florida Board of Nursing have been a real pain to me.

I did my NCLEX with Vermont (Oct 05) much quicker than FL.

Endorsed Lic March last year, I did not know you had to renew after a year.

Now letters are going from them to me to try and sort it out, they are yet to answer and of my emials I have sent them.

Thankyou to you all. I have just been sent an e-mail from my school of nursing, they have found the theory hours for the whole course, so i have asked them to send it to the Florida Board. Hope that they accept this and let me sit Nclex, as i have a job waiting at St Josephs Childrens Hospital in Tampa when i get a licence.
