Employer used my photo without my permission on social media

Published

My nursing supervisor approached me today to show me a photo that had been posted by my employers twitter account. The photo is of me doing a procedure on a patient while at the same time promoting said procedure. The parent of the patient apparently took the photo (unbeknownst to me) and submitted it to my employer. We have a policy of no photos/videos in patient care areas and families sign a form that they acknowledge this policy. Not only that, but the parent is apparently a physician assistant who also works for the company! My employer did not ask for my permission prior to posting this photo. Where do I go from here?!

LOL, I worked in one facility where the same, attractive nursey-nurses were

used all of the time in ads, videos, etc.. I of course never got asked. I too

would have been flattered. I certainly understand the OP's concern though,

especially if there is a situation similar to what Ruby Vee related above.

Another facility where I worked, my picture was used for a huge photo that

went on the wall of our unit. It was hilarious. There were five of us and we

were pretending to all be looking at a chart at one time. Then suddenly we

look up from the chart and smile at the camera! Kinda like the evening news,

when the whole team is looking at something on the counter, and suddenly

they all look up at once with their serious facial expressions.
