I haven't seen anything on here about this upcoming residency so I wanted to start a thread for it. I just interviewed for emory midtown medical floor (specifically neuro and oncology) as well as the EDF at University and I wanted to share how it went for future lookers.
Once you arrive and sign in, you walk into an auditorium where you sit and wait for your name to be called. Bring like 6 copies of your resume. I didn't know this and brought one but thankfully there was a nice lady who made copies for me. The interview itself was very comfortable. There are two people who ask you scenario questions such as "Name a time when you gave service above and beyond. What did you do and what was the outcome." Another was "Name a time when you experienced patient conflict," "Give an example of a time where teamwork was needed."
Those were the questions asked plus a few more, for the medical floor. As for ED that was a completely different experience. They wanted to know about strengths and weaknesses as well as what sets emory apart from other hospitals.
Hopefully within a week I will hear back but that was my experience.
I called her back immediately yesterday and left a voicemail. Still hadn't heard back around 3pm, so I called again and didn't leave a voicemail. Literally so anxious! I'm scared to get my hopes up! I just want to know! I'll try sending her an email! Keep your fingers crossed! Hopefully I'll know something by the end of today!
I emailed the nurse recruiter! She called me back within in hour like you said! She said she still had a lot of phone calls to make. I was offered a position in the Neonatal ICU!!!! I then asked her if she already gave out offers for the ER at midtown and she said yes. I told her I was thrilled with the offer, but surprised because my interview with the ER went better. She told me that someone officially declined their offer and she looked at the list and I was the next on the list. I now have to decide whether I want to work in the ER at midtown or the NICU! I am so thrilled! I also tried to get the DL for the rest of you guys that haven't heard anything.... she said she still has a lot of phone calls to make! She also said that she will send out emails next week if you didn't get a position. Congrats to those who have heard back! I am keeping y'all in my prayers!

If you do NICU we will be working on the unit together! That was my top pick and the one I accepted. So exciting!
That would be so fun if we worked together! However, after much deciding, I have decided to work in the ER at midtown! Tried calling the nurse recruiter about my decision and of course she didn't pick up lol. poor girl is probably so busy! she said I could let her know my decision on monday, but I wanted to let her know today so someone else could have the NICU opportunity. Best of luck to everyone! Those who have accepted jobs in the program, I am sure I will see you in our classes at some point!

Have you called the nurse recruiter back about your voicemail? Crossing fingers super hard for you. If she hasn't called back, I also recommend sending her an email. When she called me and I missed the call I couldn't get ahold of her. After I emailed, she called back within the hour!
