Hi! I have looked around, but I could not find any posts about the March 2016 Residency Program at Emory University in Atlanta, GA so...I thought I would make one :-)
Has anyone else applied or does anyone have any info about the overall process? Thanks in advance!
I'm still trying to figure out when ill head over there. I think in January I will go out there in an attempt to find an apartment. Im not TOOO familiar with the area but ive been looking on apartments.com for some places. Lol everything I like would be placing me in a bad financial situation. Sigh
Yeah, I love the Virginia Highland area or Little Five Points. Inside the perimeter is pretty expensive but super nice!
-Just wondering though, have you received a formal offer letter from HR?
Hey! I was told that they were still trying to figure out the start date. It would either be the 14th or the 28th--if I remember correctly. They said once they have picked a date that official letters would then be sent out. I got all my references in and everything else that was required. I was thinking of sending an email just for a quick update.

I sent an email last week and the recruiter said that she hopes to get the offer letters out in the next two weeks (which the end of the two weeks would be this Friday). I'm just getting paranoid. :/ If you do send an email, please let me know of any updates. Thanks!
Hi all! Congrats on the acceptance to everyone! I interviewed before Thanksgiving and have accept a residency position in the OR at EUH. I spoke to my recruiter today (Dec. 1st) and she stated that within the next week or so formal letters will be sent out. I still have to submit my 5 references. She told me that this is a verbal offer and then a formal offer through letter will come. She also state the contract does not legally begin until the start date which is tentatively March 14th. I was curious as to how many they are taking and she said EUH will have 70 residents. Midtown 29 and Joe's 25 or something along those numbers, she also stated she has some spots to fill still. Anywho, was just reading through this and thought I would give the update I received.
Oh and PS to any new graduates about applying. I am from out of state and stalked the Emory website to apply, I never saw an opening and finally on Oct. 29th I was able to submit my application. With that being said there was an error with my resume so I reached out to a TON of people at HR to get confirmation, it took weeks to get a response and finally the director of the residency program called me. Even though I submitted my application and received an email confirmation it was submitted, they NEVER received it! So due to this I didn't get my top choice (ER which my senior practicum has been in). She still accepted my resume and let me choose between 6 other specialties. While I was disappointed about missing out on the exact unit I wanted, I am still thrilled to be joining Emory. I think everything happens for a reason and after spending 2 hours in their OR before interviewing, I am so happy with my spot. So just a FYI you have to be on your game and do your due diligence in order to make this happen...don't give up!
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to give some insight :)
Hey guys! I called the recruiter for EUH yesterday and she stated there's a delay because Emory is trying to reserve a location for our orientation, as well as the orientation for the Fall cohort that will start. Emory wanted to have the orientation schedule complete when they send our formal offer letters out. So, the recruiter said she hopes they will be able to be sent out next week. Best Christmas gift ever! Happy Holidays to everyone and good luck to anyone else who is studying for NCLEX :/ See you guys in March!!!
