Hi! I have looked around, but I could not find any posts about the March 2016 Residency Program at Emory University in Atlanta, GA so...I thought I would make one :-)
Has anyone else applied or does anyone have any info about the overall process? Thanks in advance!
Hi y'all!
First, I want to say congratulations to all of you for becoming Emory nurses. Emory Healthcare is a great system that really cares about their employees!
I was wondering if I could get some advice about the residency program:
1) What are the avaliable specialities for the nurse residency program?
2) I am out-of-state, in CT, and I was wondering for those who traveled from out-of-state, how long did you stay in Atlanta for? Were you in the middle of your nursing program/how did you miss classes?
3) When I apply for the March 2017 program, (In September 2016) I will finish my program in December 2016 and take NCLEX in Jan 2017, were you finished with your nursing program when you applied?
I will also be attending an acclerated BSN program, just wondering if any applicants were similar?
I interned with the Emory Clinic this past summer in the administrative department - loved it! Atlanta is wonderful and would love to be back at Emory! :)

Hi! To learn more about the various specialties, I suggest checking out the Emory healthcare website under their "locations" tab since there are MULTIPLE specialities at the three hospitals. They list them there.
Secondly, I am out of state (Tennessee) so I only traveled to Atlanta for the interview--I was literally there one day lol. Since I'm getting ready to graduate, all of my clinicals are over so I didn't miss anything while I was away.
Third, I think I applied in September for the program, so I definitely wasn't all the way done with my school. CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK WITH ALL OF YOUR STUDIES!!

I am out of state in TN doing an accelerated nursing program. I graduate in December 2015. So we are very similar! I only stayed in Atlanta for the interview day. I drove to Atlanta the night before, interviewed in the morning, and drove back home after the interview. I was lucky enough not to have clinical Friday, so I didn't miss anything for school. Good luck finishing school!
