Emory New Grad Residency Summer 2020

Nurses Career Support

Hey Everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for everyone applying to the 2020 residency program. I applied last week, I'm interested in Critical Care, and I graduate in May of 2020 with my BSN! Wishing you all the best of luck!

They told me they’d start making calls today and it’d be for the next 2 weeks!

Is this from all the units or a specific unit told you this? Thanks!

That's what the recruiter said! The units don't make calls, they give a list to the recruiters and the recruiters call you with your offers.

Thanks Alison for the info! Praying that I get call back!

I just got called with my offer and I’ll be receiving my offer email she said shortly.

Congratulations! Which unit was it?

General Medicine. I interviewed with other units but I only have 2 days to respond so I’d rather take it, than wait and see.

She said the start dates are either 7/27 or 8/3. The base pay is $26 but differentials are 4.25(evening), 4.50(nights), and 3.25(weekends). She said that after 3-6mos there’s a competency and if you pass(?) you’ll get a $1 raise and then another raise after 12mos.

I'm not sure if the start date is unit specific or General.

I also just received an offer and got the same information for a different unit than General Medicine -- so this seems to be general information for all new grads! Congrats to you!

Congrats to everyone! Does anyone know if the recruiter tells us all the units we are offered at the same time or will some offers come at different times? I accepted an offer to a unit, but I interviewed for a few other units while I was there.

Surgical ICU!

I received a job offer for general medicine as well! I've always wanted to do ICU, but I wasn't able to get an interview in critical care. I feel lost..... any advice would be greatly appreciated

What hospital? And which unit Specifically? I was a bit sad too, but an offer is better than none. Also, after the first year you can apply to other units. That’s what I’m going to do, I’m optimistic about it!!

we got this!!
