U.S.A. Georgia

Hi all,

Emory's New Grad Residency Program has begun accepting applications for their March 2014 cohort. Use this topic to post any updates or information about your experience with the application process.

Good luck to everyone!

@Sweety5: I got an email with a new grad questionnaire to fill out and a bunch of information about Emory Healthcare.

Oh okay! I received the same email. Good Luck to you!

@elizabethmeiereRN, I have not received a phone interview yet. I am guessing that it may take a while since they are in the process of interviewing and hiring the spring group now and I am in the fall group. :)

@asholey88-- How did your interview go?!?? What hospital did you interview for? I think some of the new grads are starting next week, so I bet you'll hear back really quickly!

@Amberivie and @Rachel1987 My interview went well. It was soooo VERY tough, but I received a call today and offered my pick between TWO positions!!! One on the bone marrow/stem cell transplant unit and one on the hem/onc unit. I also received an email today from CHOA inviting me to interview with them, but I am really falling in love with Emory. My mom was on the BMT unit several years ago with Leukemia and that's where I decided I wanted to be a nurse, so there is a lot of personal experience and sentiment there. So I think I am going to call tomorrow and accept the position on the BMT/SCT unit! Their start dates are March 10th and 17th...so I will be starting soon! I will be at the main campus at Emory University Hospital. So very excited!!! :-)

Does anyone receive a formal "You are hired letter" after submitting reference forms and pre-employment data form? I should be in the March residency group, feeling uncertain about my situation.

Specializes in Emergency, ICU.

@ZONAYEH...we are in the same boat. My understanding from speaking to someone in HR is that they give you an official offer letter after the results of the background check.

@ZONAYEH-- I can't help but to laugh a little at your comment because that's how we ALL felt! I just received my offer letter today, after they scheduled my health assessment. Don't feel uncertain; you're starting with the rest of us :-) I think they're trying to get through a lot of people right now, as I've been told by many people that they've taken on quite a few new grads. If you're feeling uncomfortable, call your recruiter. I did, as did many of my friends, and we were all reassured and provided with more information. What hospital and unit will you be working on?
