Hello! I am starting a thread for those submitting a transfer application for Fall 2023. Has anyone completed their application for early decision?
Just a reminder:
There are two Terms of Service-approved ways to create a special place for your cohort.
One: create a facebook page. This link may be posted.
Two: Premium members may create a "club" by clicking on the Breakroom link in the yellow bar to the left of this page. Then click on “Create A New Club” in the green bar at the top of the page, and follow instructions.
References to other than these two avenues will be moved from view, to comply with the Terms of Service.
Thank you.
Hey everyone! Those who have decided to attend Emory and got the official acceptance to the school of nursing for fall 2023, please let me know if you are interested in the Veterans Affair programs (VANAP, HPSP, VA-STEP). Not sure if I can display my email but it's : [email protected] if not just contact me via pm.
Step 1. VANAP- specialized veteran centered education with small cohort and clinical in the VA. Like 4-8 people depending on how many people applied for the program.
Step 2. HPSP- Scholarship- full tuition covered (tuition, fees etc), monthly stipend (~$1180), yearly textbook costs ~$1180.
Step 3. VALOR (recently name changed to VA-STEP)- Summer externship and opportunity to continue throughout the year in your senior year. Pay in my opinion was awesomely awesome like realllllllllly awesome.
Please let me know if you are interested and I will share more information about it with you and connect you to my program director. Basically you will receive veteran specialized education (VANAP) and may get your tuition covered with monthly stipend and textbook (HPSP) and also better chances at getting an externship at the VA (VALOR/VA-STEP) extern. 400 hours externship in the Summer and also throughout your senior year!!
VANAP and VA-STEP both have interviews. And HPSP you will need to fill out applications with recommendations letters/essays, no interviews so far that I know.
Mackenzie Neal said:Hello! I was waitlisted and quite happy given Im not a A+ student. Anyone written a LOCI? If so what did you include? Thanks! Congrats to everyone admitted.
Yes I wrote a LOCI. I got off the wait-list within 2 weeks. I emailed it to the nursing general email and portal and admission officers ...but also the dean's...as well. Included why I wanted to go to Emory, researched about Emory's and the nursing school history and culture. Etc. Show them that you did your research.

I hope you do too! Did you submit any test scores like the TEAS?
