Emory BSN 2016

Published

Hey Everyone! I just submitted my application last month for the BSN program for Fall 2016 :) I see that there are ABSN/MSN threads, but I haven't been able to find anything for the traditional program.

Where's everyone from? What are your stats? I live in Atlanta currently, and Emory is my DREAM school. One of my main concerns is that I won't have all of my prerequisites completed until this Summer, and I'm worried that may look bad on paper for them. So far I've made all A's in my nursing prereq's. I was initially planning on applying for Fall 2017, but since organic chem is no longer a requirement (thank god!!!), I find that I technically can apply for this Fall!

Good luck to everyone applying! I know this thread is a little late, but I figure it could be good for all of us to communicate through here :)

You have to complete all prerequisites before the program starts, no exception.

Of course! I was just saying that mine won't be complete until this summer, right before classes start. So I'm hoping that doesn't look bad on my application.

It doesn't matter. I finished mine in the summer right before the class started

Hi guys, I just submitted my application for BSN Emory nursing for fall. how long it takes to get the results? Is there enough scholarship to cover the cost of attendance? What is the requirements GPA to get the admission?

Hi @borgitew! Online it says that BSN applicants will receive acceptance letters/notifications March 1st. That's only a month and a half away ahhh!! They said that they prefer to see at least a 3.0 in all coursework, but one thing I really love about Emory is that they have a more holistic review process and take everything into consideration. So maybe if you don't have that 3.0 they're looking for, they may really appreciate your volunteer work or leadership activities.

Also, I know Emory has many scholarships to offer. I'm still working on my financial aid applications right now, so I won't know for a little bit. I haven't filed my 2015 tax return yet, and I think we have to have our financial aid stuff completed by March 1st. I'm a little nervous that I won't receive what I need to in time. I know for a fact that my dad doesn't get his until April, which is concerning. As of right now, I've just been listing my information from 2014. It says to do that in the FAFSA instructions, but I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly?

Hey,

I just applied for the fall program on 1/12. I hope we get an answer quick. I'm so scared I hope my work experience and my gpa helps. I have a 3.90 on all my prerequisites.

That's awesome!! I definitely think you'll get it. Has anyone heard anything from the school? I set up my OPUS account and was notified about financial aid stuff. But besides that, I haven't received any e-mails or phone calls from the school.

I'm super nervous. My science classes are about to expire. I had to stop school to support myself and my daughter. I gained some experience working at a cardiologist office. I became a medical assistant. I hope that helps me stand out some. I'm also studying for the teas. All I saw on the list was that they received my application. One check down lol. Where else are y'all applying too??

I applied back in December and they just checked that they received my transcript a few days ago. I think your work history/background will look great on paper. Emory is the only school I'm applying to. Everyone tells me I'm crazy, but it's my number once school and the only one I'm working towards going to. What about you?? I hear Kennesaw and GSU are really good schools as well.

Funny thing is that I became a medical assistant without a degree. Everything was thought to me. I know a lot of medications/dosage. I'm planning to apply to mercer, ggc, ga state. Is a essay required for Emory?

How many checks do u have so far?
