EMORY ABSN+MSN 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

So I decided to start a thread for the Fall 2018. Any current/prospective student on here? What GPA did you have when you applied and how competitive is the selection process? If you don't mind sharing your work experience and GRE score, that will be awesome. For those who are enrolled, do you mind sharing your experience?

Any accepted yet? I'm wondering where people are looking to live

Does anyone know if Emory is on break or not I have been trying to get in touch with them for the past couple of days

they have been closed because of snow I believe.

I also applied for the pediatric acute with hopes to add the primary care specialty and was accepted. I, too, will be relocating to the Atlanta area, but not sure where. Freaking out a little about the cost.

if anyone has any questions about the atlanta area, i can answer them! I've been in atlanta for over twenty years and know the area very well

Does anyone know when the waitlisted students from priority deadline will hear back?

Has anyone who is still "patiently" waiting on an admissions decision spoken with emory lately on a new projected date for letting us know? I am thinking about calling them again.

Called them several days ago, they said decisions would be sent out 'very soon' and the delay was caused by an unexpected influx in submitted applications to process. Wouldn't hurt to call again and update us, if you wanted to.

Specializes in Medical ICU.

I called this morning and got through to someone. I applied for the second priority deadline and was told that the admissions committee was still holding my file. The woman I spoke with told me I will for sure have a decision soon but to go ahead and count on the February 15th deadline.....Even though I was told in an email that I was being considered for the January 15th release date.

I just called Emory. Spoke to Sarah and she said they will be releasing decisions all at the same time now on February 15th - even though some of us submitted by the priority deadline. More waiting. :(

That is extremely disheartening, but thanks for letting everyone know! If we are admitted, I suppose the next question will be - will our financial aid decisions be released on February 15th also, as posted on their website.

For anyone waiting to hear from Emory - it has been a nightmare applying to their school. Those of us that got in have received next to no financial aid. The largest aid package they gave was $2500 per semester or something like that. The school costs around $30,000, based on the figures they gave us. They told one person that called to get a rich relative to pay for them. And there is NO guarantee you'll get funding for the MSN portion of the program. The whole program costs over $180,000. Since the first part is undergraduate, you won't qualify for many, if any, undergrad loans, meaning you'll need private. Which is insane. I highly recommend not going to this school. They've been nothing but condescending and entitled to those of us that asked for information.
