So I decided to start a thread for the Fall 2017. Any current/prospective student on here? What GPA did you have when you applied and how competitive is the selection process? If you don't mind sharing your work experience and GRE score, that will be awesome. For those who are enrolled, do you mind sharing your experience?
Just got an email earlier today, Waitlisted as well, kind of feel like I'm in limbo right now. Happy that I didn't get a denial letter, but bummed that I didn't get accepted either. Does anyone know how many people are waitlisted each year? Or does it vary? I know that certain schools/ programs will have a specified number of spots on their waitlist.
Hey! So quick question. I was accepted! But on my admission letter it only says "Accelerated BSN" program. Are we admitted into the MSN portion separately? Honestly very excited. But I know I want to make sure I become an FNP, and so far I've gotten into Simmons College 3-yr program where I seamlessly am guaranteed to continue toward FNP.
Hello everyone,
I hope those who are still anxiously waiting will receive decisions soon. I received admission over the weekend and am so grateful and humbled. I did not get an offer from Emory for merit scholarships, and am not sure if they are still making decisions or if those have already been offered to others.
I'm going to visit them on 2/11 for the event, and wanted to see if another lady would like to split the airbnb? It will be bare basics, just 2 twin mattresses, and it's an apartment near Emory that has a fitness room and a shuttle to the campus. The male student who is renting out the unit will not be on the premises. I've booked it 2/10 (check-in) through 2/12 (check-out) so it'd be best to have someone OK with that duration, but I'm open to what's out there. The cost will be $30 per night. You ideally would have an airbnb account so myself and the student landlord can see your profile and he can "approve" you staying at his airbnb somehow.
I'm in my mid-30s, would love to meet someone also doing nurse practitioner as a second career, and I'll be visiting a church on Sunday so you're welcome to ride with me. Thanks! Try to PM me, not sure how it works, but if you can't, maybe leave a message.
So I got this email today although I did not receive any scholarship info.
Dear (my name):
Congratulations again on your admission to the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University! We are celebrating with you and your family on this great achievement.
We know there can be different ways to calculate a family's ability to contribute to college costs, as evidenced by the wide range of awards you may have received from other highly selective institutions. Emory strives to make your nursing education affordable for all qualified students who wish to attend.
COMPETITIVE FINANCIAL AID
To best support you and your family as you make this important decision, we would like the opportunity to review your financial aid award in light of what you may have received from other highly selective schools.
You are a stellar student, and we want you to choose Emory for nursing school. If you have received a merit-based financial aid award from any other institution, please share it with us. We will re-evaluate your merit-based aid award based on this information.
To have your Emory financial aid award reviewed in relation to a merit-based award from another institution, please complete this form. You will need to upload digital copies of admission offers and the award letter(s) received from other schools. For further consideration, this form and accompanying documentation must be submitted by Friday, February 10, 2017.
Sincerely,
Office of Enrolment and Student Affairs
Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing
Emory University
Did anyone receive this?
I guess they aren't considering me for a merit scholarship then, I didn't get that email!
Maybe they're looking at a really high GPA or something; thought I was not bad with over a 3.8 for undergrad and mostly A's thereon after, but there must be a lot of smart, passionate people out there in this class. Not waiting around though, got some other scholarship things in process, and I'll be in a better place to make final decisions before March 1, which is the deadline they are giving us to put down a deposit.
I was just waitlisted! I'm so excited. Can you let me know approx how many waitlisted people ending up attending from previous years!?
Decisions for waitlisted applicants are announced as seats become available, up to the first day of orientation. We do not have an exact number of students that we pull from the waitlist each term, it can vary depending on the number of students that apply, are accepted into the program, and/or deposit and enroll by the time orientation begins.

With all that experience, I'm surprised you were waitlisted!
