Emergency Care Technician

Hello,I want to know if its possible to register as a General Nurse if yes, what are the requirements ,I am a qualified Emergency Care Technician.

Specializes in Trauma, Teaching.

What country are you from? The US doesn't call levels of nursing "general", we have Licensed Practical (or Vocational) Nurses, and Registered Nurses. Both require college degrees and passing the NCLEX. All are "registered" with our state's Board of Nursing.

We also have varying levels of Emergency Care (first responders), from Basic to Paramedic, even Flight qualified.

Am from Botswana,I did emergency care technology,Advanced Life Support, even here nurses are called'registered nurse's,the degree is the one that is called Bachelor's degree in General Nursing.Am no longer interested in paramedics,I want to do nursing.

You can go to a LPN program, or get an Associates (ASN) or Bachelors (BSN, Bach. of Science in Nursing) to become a nurse. You can't take the boards (NCLEX) to become a nurse unless you graduate from one of these schools.

Good luck, hope you find a program you like.
