Hi Everyone, I know this is a bit early but wanted to get it going because of other past threads for ELM-A program at SFSU.
I will be applying in the fall, my last 60 units 3.7 and prereqs 3.9. I volunteer at two hospitals (SFGH, Stanford). One of those volunteers programs I am a coordinator for. I have experience in home healthcare and have supported mothers and babies for over 3 years, and supported families with children with developmental disabilities for 5 years. I am hoping to apply to Women's Health track. Would love to hear from other applicants and your stories. I found these threads really helpful, I would highly recommend reading the past applicants who were accepted into the program. Thanks everyone!

Hi! Thanks for starting this thread. I will also be applying in the fall. My prereqs GPA is ~3.0. I've worked in healthcare for the last 3 years. I am looking at the Pubic/Community health option that's where my passion is.
I am curious as to what the main difference is between the ELMSN v.s. the ELM-A programs at SFSU? Aside from the application deadline dates, I don't really see anything. Do you know if it's possible to apply to both programs at the same time? Thanks!

Hey Haron717, I'm actually in the ELM-A program right now at SFSU. I was also so confused when I was applying but allnurses really helped with the process. So the standard ELM is a 3 year long program with summers off. ELM-A is condensed into two years, with summers being quite busy. You can apply to both programs but ELM-A applications are due earlier, so I say if your prereqs are done to apply to this program! Word of caution though, the accelerated program is more expensive and you don't get regular student benefits that you do with the ELM program like free gym entry or bus rides, since it's technically through the college of extended learning. But I think to be done a year earlier is totally worth it. Good luck ?

Hello everyone,
I just submitted my app as well and chose Public Health as my emphasis. My last 60 units GPA is 3.92 and prereq GPA is 4.0. I didn't do too well on the GRE writing, I only got a 4.5 ( my fault, though, I only allotted two weeks to prepare). It's my first time applying, so I am a bit nervous.
Best of luck to everyone! Hope we all hear good news soon.

Hello all, did anyone receive an interview invite yet? Doesn't the program start in Spring? We're getting a little close to the end of the year and I'm nervous that I haven't heard anything

I don't know if this is an accurate way of guessing when the invites go out, but last year they went out on the 4th week of October. If it's the same for this year, the lucky/deserving ones should hear back by the end of next week.

Did you get an invite? I got one last night. I accepted the invitation, but didn’t receive a confirmation response. I was just wondering if it was the same for anyone else.
