Elcentro fall 2017

Published

I know its super duper early.. I'm still in the process of taking my pre reqs.. I still need biol 1406 & bio 2401 I made a B in engl 1301 & A in psyc 2301.. I plan on taking bio 1406 in fall & bio 2401 in winter semester. Im taking as many supporting classes as I can to rack up on the extra points. I currently attend collin but they have so many more requirements than el centro so in the event i do not get accepted into elcentro the following semester I will apply at collin.. I still need Hesi & all my shots along with cpr.. anyone in the same situation? Or just getting the process started?? I figured I'd start a thread to help us all get over this together.. feel free to comment advice, concerns or questions :)

Damn girl did you have fun at all these past few semesters? lol

Lol thanks. I studied really hard for the HESI. I took it twice. I wish I had more bsn classes done but il just work on them throughout the program. How about you?

PreReq Gpa: 3

Support Courses: 4

BSN points: 13

Hesi: 7 (yeah I know)

HPRS: 6

My total is 33!

I just hope that this is enough

It was a challenge getting all those BSN classes complete I took every semester possible to complete them.

That's awesome you got almost all of them done. You did great too. We have same amount of points I think we will get in

I do wish my Hesi scores were a lot better I improved on my math and anatomy scores. But with my anatomy scores they kept being kinda the same so I just settled for the 80. I kept getting the same hard questions!

Yeah the anatomy part was pretty tricky. But with them requiring such high scores now it's really an accomplishment just to pass it. Lol

PreReq gpa 5 points

Support 4 points

Bsn 10 points

HESI 13 points

English 80

A&P 92

Math 100

so a total of 32 points

P.S. Got into Collin College Nursing program , so the big chance I will give up E Centro

That is awesome, I have a friend that kept getting low scores on her PSB but her overall GPA was a 3.8 and her science GPA was 4.0. She ended up getting into the respiratory program but I just thought that it was unfair that she could not get into the nursing program. Good luck girl, all the best. Are you starting this summer or the fall?

Yes I was just happy to pass since I have all of the BSN courses just about done I plan on jumping right into a BSN program. Then after that I'm taking a year off and then I plan on working on my Masters.

That's awesome. Way to go. I plan on doing the rn to bsn program right after but don't plan on going past the bachelors lol.

Hey yall....now Im not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I do want yall to be aware of something. I started El Centro's LVN to RN bridge program in Fall 2016. I withdrew this current semester (Spring '17) because I had a baby 2 days after the semester started. The first semester was challenging but what made it almost unbearable was the lack of organization! Holy moly! It was BAD. I went this past Wednesday for my readmission interview. Later that night, a friend from the fall semester that is still in the program was telling me that so many students had filed appeals (for exams) and some have even contacted the BON. It sounds like (and take this with a grain of salt) that there is a possibility that El Centro may or may not have a nursing program....appararently they should know in October. But I can tell you that they are on probation.
