El Centro Spring 2015

Published

Hi all,

I am starting a tread for all the students that will be applying for spring 2015 ADN program at El Centro. Please join and give any info that you might have. I want to be successful as well as everyone else trying to apply.

Thanks! I hope everyone on this thread gets accepted. We have created a "nursing student bond". This is where I found out about point changes, Sentry applications new deadlines and all. I wish you all guys the best of luck.
Awesome news congrats to you and your sister!!!

Congratulations to you both. I wish El Centro made calls too.

Thanks everyone! Good luck to you guys!

Hi all! I got the same email at 2:26 pm. I called because I thought that maybe I didn't get in and that the denial letters would be sent out later than the others, but they assured me that ALL the letters acceptance and denial would both be sent out on the 22nd. She said that the Dean is out of the state and that none of the letters have signatures on them so that's why they are delayed. I know, I am bummed about it too. Good Luck everyone! :)

I don't need a signature on my letter. I would be happy to give them $10 to buy a stamp with her signature on it if it meant we got our letters last week.....

Do not freak out people 500 is the "norm" or so I hear. I got an email saying my physical/vaccines cleared :up:so I am a little hopeful now for Spring 2015 since El Centro is not doing the verifying anymore for the physical exam and vaccines. I might still get denied down the line but thats OK I am prepared for that as well.

Hey!

Please I wanted to ask a quick question. Where did you get your physical done? How much did it cost you? I'm making some calls right now, and it seems like the physical is really expensive, about $70. So I just wanted to know how much it cost you. Thanks ck......

Congratulations.

I paid 20$ I have united healthcare insurance. It's a requirement once you get accepted into the program to have insurance its hard to get though I understand. If you don't have insurance Dcccd has insurance for students I believe. You can also try calling any clinic in your area for prices. Also try and call parkland and see if they can direct you in the right direction. Maybe even email one of the nursing staff at El Centro I'm sure you won't be the first to ask where to get a cheaper physical with no insurance. There are clinics sprinkled all over Dallas that are branches of parkland. Before I had insurance I had to go to a clinic here in Irving for an ear infection. I signed in and waited till a no show and was let in. You can make appointments though. They billed me 50$ later. I didn't pay anything that day. Idk if they would do a physical but it don't hurt to ask. The last resort would have to be to call 211 the Texas information number. They can help point you in the right direction with anything you may need. Medical help too. Hope any of this information helps. If I think of anything else I'll post in another reply. Or maybe someone else can pitch in some information too. Good Luck, I attached the number for the Irving clinic.
