congratulations! to everyone that is starting in january!
i'm so excited to meet everyone-please introduce yourself!
:groupwelcome:
Hi Amy, Married life is great! It's been one week and one day already!
I'm trying to get all my school stuff organized. Looks like I will have Mondays and Tuesdays off of school. Although I see where there is a mandatory meeting for us all next Monday.
This is pretty exciting-something we've worked so hard to do is ACTUALLY going to happen this week! I'm really psyched! I know at the welcome back party the upperclassman spent most of the meeting trying to scare the crap out of us first semster nursing students. If we all just work hard and help one another, we'll make it just fine!
Everyone enjoy this last day off!
It's good to listen to the horror stories, but don't take anything to heart.
(Except the unorganization.) haha
Everyone forms their own opinion. 1st semester wasn't a walk in the park, but good grades are doable.
Overall, stress and all....I loved it. I'm excited about 2nd semester, and I hope it's as good (if not better) than the 1st!
Once again, good luck to all of y'all!
(You will have at least 2 mandatory meetings @ ECC. One is an orientation, the other is the wound care seminar. Why they don't do that via video is beyond me. ha)

I'm glad you're enjoying married life
Yeah- I know what you mean about upperclassmen. Being one of them, I don't know why others try to make this program seem so scary. Yeah it's a lot of hard work but all nursing programs are that way and if you can read what we've been writing on these boards and you're still interested, then you're going to do GREAT!
Good luck to everyone this week! :balloons::monkeydance:
I'm spending today packing my backpack and getting everything together. Do we need to bring anything special to the first day of skills lab? I saw the post of what Northlake students need to bring, but does anybody know if ECC is pretty much the same? I'd hate to be unprepared the first day! LOL. But, I also don't want to cart tons of unnecessary stuff on the light rail and look like a homeless person toting around all my worldly possessions. Everybody post how their first day goes.
Take care!
Kathy
Glad to hear things are going well for you Spill. Was this info. about the mandatory meeting next Monday on the schedule on the B.B. at NL?
Yes, I made a copy of the schedule---shhh, I ripped it off the board and ran to a nearby copier****
next Monday 1/22, *ALL RNSG 1460 MANDATORY RESOUCES MEETING AT ECC (1:30-5:30)
The next meeting isn't until week 6 and it will be the same time but at Baylor Hospital.
:roll Sooooooo funny.2nd semester you also have to carry your needles and IV stuff.

I bought a tackle box for my stuff. 2nd semester also needs to bring the IV stuff too? I thought that wouldn't be used until the end of the semester?
I agree Kathy..lol...I wouldn't want to get on the train with my worldly possessions either. (Especially 2nd semester with a bunch of syringes and needles in a clear bag.)
Spill....congrats. I wish you both the best!
Truly...I called the police last week when I was riding the train coming back from ECC. Some crazy lady screaming on the phone and cussing...of course people were staring at her! She chose to yell at me to stay out of her business and threatening us...lol. I simply called the Dart police. They escorted her off the train at the Arapaho station...lol. If some of those folks see you with a clear bag of needles and stuff, they'd mug you I bet! Good lord. You'd think they could give us a place at school to store our supplies. Do you need anything special (login passwords, etc.) to get online at ECC, or is it an open wifi?

Spill,
I haven't talked to you in awhile but wanted to ask .... how is "married life" going? Congrats again! I have Johnston. According to our schedule, unless things change, I will only have school on Tues, Wed, and Thurs. I hope it stays that way!
