congratulations! to everyone that is starting in january!
i'm so excited to meet everyone-please introduce yourself!
:groupwelcome:
even though I didn't go to NL, I dont' think you have to bring your whole supply pack , or a BP cuff. The lab will have the cuffs. And you will not use much off the pack on the first day. Gloves will be fine,as Fun said. Bring your papers , proof of your CPR , Insurance and Meds Pub payment, maybe proof of Immunization, your syllabus and something to write.
Jaxia,
I am not sure now about nurse pac / skills pac. Our instructor today called them the same thing. How was your first day? As for mine, I feel like I almost froze to death! It was SOOO cold outside and inside was freezing also. The T building at NL is not that old..you would think it would have better heat then what I felt today. BRRR. We have test 1 in week 3. OMG! We all have mandatory meeting this coming Monday at ECC...maybe I can finally meet you there. How did your first day go? I have same instructor for clinical, skills, lecture. It's only the first day and already a girl in my clinical class is whining about the reading.

mysterious -- I'll be at ECC :)Amy -- Ah! That makes sense now.
It's here; it's here! Our first day is here! I don't think I slept a wink last night.
Amy,
I'm STILL trying to defrost! I had a fiasco with public transportation to start my morning (and end my afternoon! I had an hour and a half to kill before my train, so I rode around on a different train while I waited because the train was the warmest place -- lol), but my lab instructor seems good. I'm a little worried about some of the people in my lab section though. Did you have your lecture today, or when you say 'test' do you mean our skills checkoffs? I have my first lecture class on Friday. I'm not surprised someone was complaining -- we had people asking some of the most annoying questions! I really have to work on my patience As for Monday, I get out of class at 1p, so I'll be there early :) Can't wait to meet you :)

Jaxia,
LOL @ defrost! No, we have our 1st LECTURE test in week 3. I went to lab today. My lecture is on Wednesday's so I'll have the first lecture tomorrow. Yeah, I know what you mean about patience! My lab section has 3 guys. I was surprised there were that many considering there are only 10 of us. There was one girl that didn't come to lab until around 12:00 noon and we left at 1:30 pm - NOT a good way to start.

Wow, the first lecture test is in week 3? I hadn't heard about that. My lab section has 2 guys and I was surprised -- 3 is really wild! During the morning session where all the lab sections were together, I counted 6 guys. Maybe they wanted to spread them out? We had two girls who were over an hour late back from lunch, and the lab instructor made a note of it, and said it counts towards their 'you can't miss more than 12 hours or you fail.' Not a good way to start, FOR SURE. We also had one person who just never even showed up at all. I wonder if they dropped?
Well well....Jaxia and I have one person in our group that we're certain can't last....philosophically speaking...lol. But, we did luck out in the clinical instructor department. We also have one re-admit in our group -- we'll see if that's of any value to us. Glad to see you made it home alright Amy! I'm gonna get cracking (now that I've helped my daughter with her homework) on our reading!
Take care,
Kathy

Nurse Pac? What is that? The bag of stuff from the bookstore? I do have that, but I haven't opened it yet. Unless there is one in the bag, I don't have a BP cuff. Should I go get one tonight?
My name tags aren't in yet, so I can't wear it either.
Thanks for sharing this, Amy! At least I will bring my CPR card and Hep shots
