El Centro College Spring 2019

Published

Hi guys,

i wanted to make a forum for all of the 2019 applicants. I wanted to know what everybody was going to apply with and if they knew anything about the school still being in academic probation? Also does anybody know if the school accepts the Hep A and Hep B shows that are 1 month apart?

Also, does anyone know what, if any changes the El Centro adn program made to improve their nursing students curriculum and the higher NCLEX scores? I went to an information session but it was months ago so I can't remember everything that was mentioned. My (somewhat irrational) concern is what happens if the NCLEX scores drop again and the program is placed on probation again or closed. Do the students already in the program still progress? Or do they have to find a different school? I wish there was a recent graduate to ask these questions to

You could go to paramount building and ask a nursing student before/after class. Congratulations on both your acceptance letters!

Thank you! Either way I am just very happy to be continuing on this path to complete a nursing program. I know everyone has worked very hard to reach this point.

I worked for MHS for 4 years. Loved it. I'd take El Centro MHS over everything, but that's just me. Find out where Mountain View has clinical sites. You want to be at the busy azz hospitals. Check out the Corner Bakery next to the Paramount building, you may find some nursing students to ask your questions. Good luck to ya deemin220

Hello guys I was accepted into the Lvn to rn program. I ordered my uniform and now I'm wondering what kind of shoes we will be required to wear for clinical

They say we need black leather shoes for school but when I was in the program, people wore mesh shoes still like Nikes with white logos and they were fine. I guess if it's almost all black it should be good.

I was told all black leather shoes, but I have hear some students wearing mostly black shoes also. I was looking at the nursemate brand but they're costly to look so plain. Have your uniform shipped yet? I got a notification mines shipped last week.

I wore black Nikes with white check mark. They didn't care. Them nursing shoes are ugly lol.

They really are lol!! I love nikes and I hope they will continue to not caring and let us wear them.

I don't have any health insurance and I saw that that was a requirement also do you guys know of any low cost insurance for students?

I know at the school in the past have given some information on low-cost insurance for students. Possibly check with the Health Ocuppation office and see if they can provide any information.

Has anyone received the documents that we have to bring to orientation that was stated in the acceptance letter?
