El Camino, Compton, Cypress College Spring 2020 nursing application process

Hi everyone. I applied to El Camino College, Compton College and Cypress College. I was hoping we could help each other out in sharing information. This is my first time applying to any nursing program. All I know for now is that ECC is supposed to send an email to potential candidates to take TEAS on or around Oct 21. What I don’t understand is if we will get the invite around that time or if we will be TESTING around that time. It can be read either way. At compton, the lady at the front desk said they’d be behind one week for testing due to her being gone due to a death in the family. So she said that if I got an invite to take the TEAS elsewhere, to do it and then contact her so that she can tell me where to send it. All I remember from Cypress is that we should get an email by Dec 12 or so and to call the school if we don’t. But I don’t remember what they said as far as the TEAS. I guess I’m wondering if denial letters also get sent when invites for TEAS get sent. Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks!

Good morning! Well my understanding was that we needed to wait for codes for both. I tried getting nurse pack but it wouldn’t let me log in. I haven’t done any of the requirements because we can’t start until the 15th, but plan on starting next week sometime.

Sue_ema, how did u order nurse pack?

I wasn’t able to login either so I googled the companies name and called the number, the lady said it was working for her. I tried the login and it worked after she told me to not capitalize t for Torrance and to capitalize the t for the pw. Once you login it will show el Camino nurse pack for $162.24

Is the due date January 20 for all requirements or is it just the physical form?

So we still can’t do the background check, because it will be done by Castle Branch?

I received my uniform last Sunday. I ordered unisex top medium and they are too big and long for me. I was told I can exchange it, but I’m worried that I won’t receive it before class start this winter. The medium clinical top is okay.

@Sue_emaDamn, $162. What did it include? Did u ask the lady if Torrance was still using them? Torrance isn’t switching companies, right? I’m going to try today.

CozyCub, did u try on the uniforms at school? They ran big. I’m glad I went to go try them on. Did u get logo on it? That’s good that u can return it. I was under the understanding that we couldn’t because of the logo. Does anyone know if they are local? Like maybe go to them instead of waiting. I’m going to check status if mine. I won’t be here from 18-5, so I’m worried about it sitting out ?

Any of those waiting on Compton hear anything yet?

I believe everything Medical and supply wise is due that date. Not sure about castle branch. One of our classmates also received her uniform size small and it was huge, I emailed them about exchanging it for Xs but no reply yet so I’ll call Monday .

I will receive mine today according to fedex . I believe it include Iv start kits , foley cath. And other supplies for our physical assessment class . I don’t think it’s a different company since it showed el Camino name & it’s the companies name that was given.

Yes I did. I was planning to wear sweater or something warm underneath it. We were told to buy a size bigger so I was thinking the medium is fine, but we were told on the orientation that we are not allowed to wear anything except the uniform and white t-shirt. No long sleeve.

It’s okay to exchange as long as you didn’t wash or wear them and no dirt on it.

No we haven’t heard anything back , I called and they said letters are still going out whatever that means lol .. I did ask if those accepted already had the orientation and the assistant said yes so I’m guessing that might not be a good sign for those of us waiting ?.

nope Dub still haven't heard anything back. when i called i was told they were done with the second rounds an their wouldn't be a third round so i was expecting a denial on Friday but still no response. my friend who actually got accepted and went to orientation said they were really unorganized and she was offered a spot in the upward mobility even tho she applied for generic so maybe more spots opened up.

Well lets hope they will still send out emails. You still have a chance until you get the denial. I actually got a letter from LATTC. They scheduled me for the TEAS on Jan 8th. Apparently they don’t check their emails nor the emails from TEAS. Doesn’t matter at this point as long as I’m put on the waitlist. Make sure y’all apply there too.
