Effect of IV narcotic leaked from syringe onto hand

Not very much of the IV narcotic got on my hands, and I washed my hands afterwards, but I'm still wondering if the IV narcotic would show up positive on a urine drug screen? This happened a few weeks ago, and in another couple weeks I'm taking a drug test for a new job. I doubt this will be a problem, but I've worked so hard to get this new position, I'm thinking about anything and everything that could possibly go wrong.

The IV form of narcotics would not absorb into your skin. That's why we inject it instead of rubbing it on :)

Wishing you could relax a little. Anxiety won't help the learning process.

Good luck, let us know how orientation is going.

Hey! I watched NCIS last night so I know how to answer this :)

Most drugs that are in your system leave it within 72 hours. Topical is not systemic.

NCIS clearly missed my benzo lecture :)

OP: chill. This is not going to make you pop positive on a test. Even if some of the drug did managed to be absorbed TD in the brief moment that it was on your skin, it will be cleared from your system fairly quickly, well before a drug test coming up in 2 weeks.

So try to relax...you'll be fine.

As long as it didn't leak in your mouth, I believe you are OK.

Don't use opium perfume. ;)

I once squirted IV Ativan in my eye, fun times.

You can purchase a drug test on Amazon or a local pharmacy and take one at home. That might help ease your mind.
