Unless you are Australian born, I think you are effected by this retrogression and will have to apply for a visa that at the moment is taking 5-6 years to obtain if you want to work there.
...and the nurses from the United states,(all states) write that jobs there are a very few and far between, especially for a nurse that can offer only a qualification and no experience, same situation as Canada.
If you want the traditional, on these boards, get a USA registration from any state you can without any work visa possible for the next 5 years, New York seems to be the place to apply!
Please note I have no experience in US visas.
It is difficult to move from one country to another without having work rights.
The USA at this time i has severely limited giving visas readily to nurses as they do not have a shortage - that is the only reason countries have immigration to supply manpower to a shortage. (there are a few other)
So requiring a work visa is extremely difficult to the United States..
