Thought I'd start a new thread about this topic -- the NCSBN survey some of us EC grads have received. I just got this email from EC:
It has come to our attention that the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NSCBN) has distributed a survey stating they are "conducting a study to address the practice performance of graduates from traditional and non-traditional nursing programs."
This survey is not endorsed or approved by Excelsior College, nor were we consulted concerning the design or the intent of the survey; moreover we are concerned that it is structured in a way that will yield negative and inaccurate results. NCSBN has not clearly articulated how the results of the survey will be used or how it will be communicated to other parties.
You may be concerned that your decision to complete or not complete the survey will change your current RN licensure. Be assured that the NCSBN cannot revoke your license for lack of participation in the survey.
We believe it is not in your best interest to complete the survey; however participation in the survey is your decision. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. You can call 888-647-2388; dial 1-3-1-5 at the prompt and this will connect you with the State Boards office.
I'm not sure what to think about the whole thing. I have my survey and letter all together, ready to mail. I'm not sure that the NCSBN should have consulted EC in the first place regarding the design of the study ... I mean, really? Wouldn't that make it less objective?

It's tough to say. The program has endured for a long time, though.
