Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has received one of these scholarships and if so what amount do they typical award. Also what can you use the scholarship money towards i.e. exams, practice exams?
Thank you.

I have not used the Excelsior Military Scholarship, but I am getting my degree for almost free. I had to pay the monster enrollment fee at the beginning (which is reduced for military personnel) and I have to pay all my costs for the CPNE and graduation; but all my exams in between have been free because I go to the near-by military institution(in my case Air Force base) and take the tests at the education office. Then from now until Dec 31, 2009 they are offering all military personnel free practice tests. I didn't even notice a military scholarship, but now I am going to look into it further. If you find more information before me I would greatly appreciate it, and I will post any information I am able to acquire as well.
I should have mentioned that I am not active duty, I fall under EC's military spousal program. Under this program they offer scholarships to spouses. They may have scholarships for active duty. You can find out by going to EC military site. Good luck
I sent a message to my advisor and she said that I need to fill out the fafsa (which I already did, but didn't realize I hadn't sent it to ECE when I sent it to my University here so I sent it to them), and she would aide me in my search from there. She didn't mention what I could use the scholarship money for though. I did see the spousal scholarships as well. I would suggest sending a message to your advisor through their message center, they answer in a day or two and they are really helpful, or call. Best wishes and good luck.

I got a Military Spouse scholarship (You have to fill out a FAFSA and eligibility goes based on your Family Contribution or whatever that is)---she offered to pay for 3 of my exams for me---which totalled $705. I couldve used it for strictly exams but I chose to use it for and exam and the rest on Practice exams---since I am also using the MyCAA through the DOD. I think I already told you about that one---but if not PM me. Good luck!

Oh yea...PS...you need to fax in a copy of your Dependent ID to be considered. I faxed mine in, and then called to ensure they received it. They put me in contact with the Scholarship director (or something to that affect)---I think her name was Victoria (Im horrible with names though) and she awarded it to me that day...Also dont pay attention to the dates that they post for awards, because sometimes students are awarded scholarships and dont use it for some reason or another and they have extra scholarship money left over to disperse...Let me know how it goes...
