I read here: http://www.excelsior.edu/about/fast-facts that Excelsior's graduate employment rate is only 70%....should i be worried about that? I was thinking of doing the LPN-RN bridge through Excelsior but the 70% employment threw me. I know its not necessarily low but it is compared to traditional colleges...i mean right? My community college for example has a 100% graduate employment rate. I've looked at Bellarmine's accelerated BSN track before as well and they also have a 100% employment rate. So to me that 70% looks kind of concerning, yet I've heard a lot of good things about Excelsior and that many people who have gone through their program found jobs with no problem. But still, any thoughts on this?

Are you comparing the ASN program to BSN programs?
Also, 100% employment? I highly doubt that.
New grads everywhere are having problems getting employed regardless of school (especially those with ASN degrees).
I think the biggest leg up traditional schools have over Excelsior is they have clinical contracts with hospitals and this sometimes gives the students and "in" to employment.
Of the 5 Excelsior grads I personally know around me, only 1 had issues getting a job (took about 6 months, I think it was an age issue (she was 59 at the time)).
Look on the regional boards, all kinds of grads complaining about not being able to find a job, regardless of school.

In California the new grad RN unemployment rate is up to 48% and EC is not a factor in CA. So that would be a ~52% employment rate. The grads from EC are all over the country and therefore different markets have an impact
