Easy RN admission program in Tennessee

Updated:   Published

Hello All,

I would like to share some information to whoever have a hard time getting into any BS RN program.

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (public school -www.utc.edu) has a BS RN program on campus, and very easy to get in. No entrance exam or TEAS required. All science courses could be over 5 years old and must have at least 2.75 GPA. About 40 spots open for each semester. They have around 100 applicants each semester; however, I applied and got in. My science GPA is 2.80 and all science courses are 7 years old. I didn't have to take any entrance exam. No interview. There are not many students in the state applied. I thought this information might help someone like me when the science courses are over 5 years. Good luck!

Below is the University's RN program information sheet: prereqs, curriculum, etc.

Specializes in Maternal Child, Home Health, Med/Surg.

Hmm that does seem easy. Kinda weird to have most of the classes satisfied. I would probably move to Tennessee if I could for this as my local programs are getting harder.

Hello All,

I got my acceptance letter to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga BSN program yesterday, for Fall 2014. I got in with a 3.88 overall GPA and a 4.0 science GPA. I applied with 4 of my friends and was the only one to get in. One of my friends applied with a 3.75 overall GPA and a 3.75 science GPA and didn't get in. While an entrance exam is not required, I think a high GPA is a must. I heard that when evaluating applicants 75% of your score is based on your science GPA. The other 25% is based on your overall GPA and a reflective essay that is part of the application process. Hope this helps!!
