Eastern Michigan University-Nursing Application-2016

Published

Hey there! I am applying to Eastern's nursing school for the fall of 2016 and I wanted to get in contact with others who are applying soon!! The final semester before applying is finishing up so my nerves are already getting the best of me in anticipation of finding out if I get in or not :arghh: I would love to hear from other's and see how they're handling the stress!! haha

Ugh the mail came today and I still haven't received my letter :/ Now I have to wait until next week...

You applied with 460 correct?

Yeah right around there

Have you still not heard anything??

Nope not yet. I thought it would for sure come today but it didn't. :arghh:

You had more points than I did so I know you're in!! ☺️

In dying to hear it you got your letter!!!

Sorry i've been MIA from this convo! I got into the accelerated program! :)

What's the accelerated program?? Is that through EMU still?

So WCC and EMU are collaborating for this accelerated program I got accepted into. I'll take classes at both campuses and it will run through the summer (6 semesters total). Since the traditional program at EMU is really competitive, the program I'll be in is about 15-20 students. There weren't enough seats on Easterns campus so I'll go back and forth between schools to obtain my bachelors degree!

Can you give me some help in understanding this program? I got accepted too. I tried searching for info, but ended up confused

The EMU/WCC collab program is comprised of about 28 students. Fall and Winter classes are held at Washtenaw and Summer classes are held at EMU. All clinicals are done through Washtenaw except the last semester, which we have clinical through Eastern. At the end of it all, you obtain your BSN from EMU. This upcoming Fall semester you'll most likely take your CNA class (mandatory), microbiology and lab if you haven't taken it yet, and any other gen-eds you need to complete. Your first clinical experience is second semester at a nursing home. You get to meet people from both Eastern and Washtenaw's traditional nursing program so it's nice! I'm taking my Summer classes right now and it's basically just writing intensive courses.

If you have any other questions, let me know! When I first got accepted I had no idea what the program entailed until the first meeting.
