Eastern Michigan University-Nursing Application-2016

Published

Hey there! I am applying to Eastern's nursing school for the fall of 2016 and I wanted to get in contact with others who are applying soon!! The final semester before applying is finishing up so my nerves are already getting the best of me in anticipation of finding out if I get in or not :arghh: I would love to hear from other's and see how they're handling the stress!! haha

I'll be applying to the program as well! I'm so nervous. I just took the TEAS test, which wasn't too bad. Have you calculated your points up? If I finish A&P 2 with an A, my score will be 465/500. I don't feel like it's that great of a score but I can't do anything about it anymore :( I'm curious as to where other people stand! Hopefully more people will add to the conversation. Fingers crossed everything goes well!!

I'm glad there's someone else on here that is super nervous as well!! If i finish organic chem with a B, I'll be at 462!! So it all just depends on what grade I'm finishing that class with. I took the TEAS a little bit ago as well, and got a 20 on that!! I can't wait to just know!! :)

Me neither! Eastern is the only school i'm applying to so I really want to get in. Are you applying anywhere else?

Nope! Eastern is the only place I am applying simply because my scholarship is there, and most other school's require microbiology before you can apply, and I haven't taken that!

I am in the program now at eastern, graduating this December! You both will most likely get in. The cut off when I got in was around 435. I hear last year was around the same. Don't want to jinks it, but I would say congrats!

Thank you so much! Congrats to you for graduating this year! That's awesome :)

I really hope so! I just can not wait until I know for sure! I would love to be able to talk to you about the program itself though, and what to expect if I do get in :)

Yeah of course. Let me know what questions you have. Once you get accepted, you will have to do a background and drug test. Do this quick, when you're done you will go to the nursing office to pick up your information envelope. In this envelope is a list of schedule options. This is how scheduling works throughout the whole program. About 12 options of class/clinical schedules. Groups of 8 in each option (your clinical group for the semester). The faster you pick this packet up, the sooner you can register before the good options fill up.

That is super helpful to know! I'm worried about balancing clinical and classes, but I'm hoping that its just something you get use to. With the letter, do they give you the location to go to for the background and drug tests?

It's easy to balance them. The clinical instructors are good at accommodating to all your exams and everything. Don't worry about that. The drug test you can do at the emu Health center. The background check you do on a website, they provide instructions.

Okay awesome! That will make it easy to get done fast and get the information packet sooner rather than later :) You've been so helpful
