I just turned in my application package to the EMU Nursing office. I was wondering if anyone else is out there waiting for the letter on June 15th. So excited and good luck to everyone!!

I talked to the nursing advisors many many times, and although they told me that me having all A's in my sciences classes is good it depends on how many people apply that have taken all their pre-reqs at emu. apparently they weigh that really heavy which is unfortunate for people who took most of their pre-reqs elsewhere but i guess it just depends on what everyone else has that your applying with. I mean I guess you could apply without taking the teas but then your loosing 20 points right off the bat and I dont know how they look at that. they told me the points were given as so, 5 points for each section of the teas if you meet the requirments, 5 for work experience, 5 for taking nursing 110, 125 max points for having all A's in your 3 science classes, and their are i think about a total of 29 pre-req points for taking them at emu. And I was told the cut off last year was somewhere around 152.

Very nervous for my letter
I have taken all my pre-reqs at EMU and have all A's besides an A- in one sem of a&p and a B+ in orgo. -__-
Met requirements on the TEAS.
No health care experience at all, so my chances are iffy

Hello all!I know that for your gpa they only go off A&P and Biochem. They don't factor in any of the other courses for gpa because it would be to many with repeats and such. But you do get points for other classes if they are taken at EMU. Teas points, work experience and the biggest is taking your courses at EMU. I am not how many points you get for each thing. If anyone else knows please post! Wishing everyone good luck and hopefully see you in the fall in the nursing program!!! I have A&P A A and Biochem B-Teas 15All classes at EMUNo work experienceKeeping my fingers crossed it is a ticket in!!! :) :)
in my previous comment I put how many points you get for everything so look back a couple comments you will see it!

Hi sam54 - not sure how many points there are exactly, but you get 1 point per credit for any prereqs taken at EMU, plus 125 points possible for science GPA. I was under the impression that they do take your overall prereq GPA into consideration, not just the science GPA (although I think science GPA is most important and definitely worth the most points).
Good luck everybody! I can't wait for us to get our letters - it will be a huge relief to finally know one way or another!
All the nursing advisers I talked to said the only gpa they look at is your 3 science classes, Goodluck to everyone I cant wait until we find out !! When did everyone hear we will find out? I heard it could be as soon as first week in june to as late as the third week in june, i hope its sooner than later !
This is true but I've also heard that if there's a whole bunch of people who applied with identical science GPAs and it gets really close, they will then look at the GPA for the remaining prereqs? I think as long as you've got a strong science GPA (A's and B's) you will be fine though.
I have not heard from anybody when we are supposed to get our letters - I keep seeing June 15 on this board, and I looked at boards from teh past few years and it seemed like people got their letters around mid-June.
yeah i think you right, the anticipation is killing me !
its already June 4, not too much longer until we hear !! Everyone keeps updates when they get their letters!

I have a theory that by the time letters are sent, accepted applicants will have their registration status changed from "Nursing Intent" in anticipation of fall registry which has already begun for rest of EMU's students.
Whereas the mail only comes once a day, a registration status can be checked as often as one's neurosis finds necessary.
