Eastern Florida State College Jan 2015 (Palm Bay prog) applicants?

U.S.A. Florida

Hi there - this is just a general call out to anyone who applied for EFSC's Spring 2015 nursing program in Palm Bay. I turned in my app this week and now the waiting begins...but at least while we're all on pins and needles we can be meeting each other and comparing notes? I didn't see any other forums on this so I thought I'd kick one off. :)

Hello!

I turned in my application today. I believe I have become more anxious now that I have turned mine in! Now we just wait. :)

Hi! I found your thread! I Want to wish everyone good luck!

Congrats. Yeah the waiting game will be tough but what a milestone to be at a point where we've turned in these apps and have done all we can. It's a real achievement especially when I read through all the posts from applicants of prior years. I've been so envious of all those people over the last year or two going through this pre-nursing process, and it's so great to finally BE the waiting applicant....

@Juliab330 - in answer to your q's from the other thread...I ended up with 33 pts. Should've been 38 but I had a conflict and unfortunatey had to give up my Nursing Success Skills slot this summer . I do have a little healthcare experience under my belt; once I decided to change careers and pursue nursing I got my CNA license and have been working in a skill nursing facility since the beginning of the year. Also have a prior bachelors degree and am prior military. Definitely could go either way at 33 pts, but I like to think I'm a strong 33 haha. I have a high TEAS score which hopefully will help a bit. How about you?

I have 29 points, little on the low side. I have my AA degree already. I changed my major 6 months ago so didn't really have time to build up my points as much as I could. I have heard people have been admitted with lower then 30. And I recieved good grades in my A and P and micro classes so I didn't bomb those. My TEAS score was decent. Not as well as I could have done at all. But I could go either way on it.

I think I ended up with 38 points. I have my registered medical assisting license but no actual health care experience, just the certificate a d 2 months of internship but I don't know if they will count that? Good luck to you both! Let's keep in touch through the next couple months while we wait and hopefully we will all be seeing each other in January!

May be a little late, but I have heard that if you explained that you had the license and the internship it could have helped. That is what the advisor told me anyway. Even if it wasn't 6 months or whatever the minimum is. Good luck to you as well! We shall keep in touch and let each other know when we get the letters.

Well I did submit my RMA license and put on my app that I did an internship at Osler Medical for 2 months so it should hopefully count for something.

Good luck to you all! It's a great program. I look forward to meeting those of you who make it at orientation =)

Anyone know when we should hear back
