Tweety glad the mini fridge started working again

Stars hope the aches and pains ease off

NJ22 glad the allergies are improving

Also Earth Day

Was a busy day yesterday, got outside early but saw few birds as it was kind cold and cloudy and foggy.  Big turnout for the protest again, felt we could have used more marshals due to the size of the crowd.  Then had lunch with dad for the first time in 3 weeks.  Finally decided on a time and date for the zoo outing for the over 50 group, posted it to the web site now have to see how many of the people who were interested sign up.  Watched Svengoolie as It Came From Outer Space is one of the better 50s scifi movies.

Today thankfully don't have anything to do at church, just show up.  So I'll take the opportunity to get a little bird watching in before church.  Dad will be coming to church, if he gets up in time and feels up to it.  He's been having frequent nosebleeds, doctor thinks its due to the fact that he is currently on 2 blood thinners.  Has to keep the 2nd one for a few weeks until the CT scan confirms the clot in his pericadium is gone.  He's going to see an ENT to see if there is anything else that can be done until then

Not much else planned for today except for some cooking

Going to get up to about 60 today, will get some rain later in the day

Happy Easter!

Hope you enjoy the service today Joe.

J22, sorry to be reading about the allergies causing wheezing.

Stars, hope your hand is better.

The musical Hair was pretty good and the weather was really nice, The cast always gives it their best and they are talented.  Definitely a boomer/Gen X crowd.  They stopped around 9:30 to watch fireworks that the local soccer team put on nearby at the end of their game.

Going with best friend to a buffet at one of the hotels on the beach.  It's the place we went to last year and have gone for Thanksgiving before.  They were really affected by the storm surge flood last October so glad things are back in full swing for them.

Happy Easter~

Woke up around 10:30 AM. Today's pain du jour is the lower back again, but the right side this time, so I have put on a heat-wrap and taken my AM meds. Usually in an hour or so, things ease off. My hand feels...well, it DOESN'T feel any twinges today. (so far.) I remember when I told the arthritis specialist  I did NOT, and absolutely refused to have, fibromyalgia. He said, okay, then said I had "wandering arthralgias and myalgias" which I then decided to call the 'gypsies'.

I think BiL and SiL (or at least SiL) are supposed to come by today; don't know what time. SiL said they weren't "doing" Easter at their house, and said something about bringing us a cake. That's fine; Nannie likes any and all desserts most of all. We can do without any colored hard-boiled eggs.made by their grand-dgt.

I may have already told y'all I found my lost car key and notebook/brain; I am going to go through every single jacket pocket in the closets to see if my house key-ring will re-appear. It would be  a 'mackeral' if they show up! It was pleasant to wake up to the pre-cleaned room this AM. Still have to dust and vac, but the rest of the room already is cleared up. Ahhh! Now to KEEP it this way!

I dunno about any itinerary for the day. Won't know until I am more awake, and also see how the Nannie-routine and the BiL/SiL visit plays out. Tomorrow, thank God, is a Sr. Ctr day.

Momo just went ballistic barking at a very large crow that was trying to investigate something moving in the grass. I went out to see what it was that had the crow's interest. The crow flew away, and I'm glad, because what it was trying to do is grab hold of two King snakes that were mating! The snakes were joined at their mating organs, and one was slithering away, dragging the other one along backwards, so it looked like a very LONG snake with a head on each end. The snake being towed along looked to have no concerns at all, being 'just along for the ride" with its head raised up about 5 inches, watching out for what might be behind them. (In Dr Doolittle, a llama with a head on each end was called a "push-me-pull-you".)  Anyway, it was pretty interesting. I walked closer to them to urge the 'leading' snake to drag the other snake into the woods, out of the crows visual territory or at least where they will be more hidden by bushes and piles of dead leaves.

Go, little Kings! Go forth and multiply, and let you and all your babies eat any and all of the poisonous snakes that might be around (mostly Copperheads in this vicinity).

Hello, and Happy Easter!

No Stars, what a sight to see, those snakes!  I hope they are none the worse for getting "interrupted" by the crow.  I hope your gypsies behave themselves!

Joe, I hope you get to see some birds!  You sound like you have a lot coming up!  I hope you get some good attendance for the zoo outing.  I hope your dad is soon off the dual blood thinners, and continues to do well.

Tweety, sounds like an enjoyable outing on a glorious day!  I hope the small fridge keeps on going, and that you get your big fridge AND the roof work finished SOON/FINALLY!!  How is bowling going?

I stayed up late watching The Trip to Bountiful.  It was released in 1985, and what drew me to watch it (so late!) was the intro music: a woman singing Softly and Tenderly.  I looked up WHO sang it, and found it was one of my all-time favorite vocalists, Cynthia Clawson!  NO WONDER it grabbed me!  So, yes, I watched the whole movie, and I thought it was VERY good (In 1986 Geraldine Page won an Oscar for her role in the movie; she died the next year 😞 )I am not real persnickety -- if a movie holds my interest, I think it's OK.  I don't like certain genres of movies, so I guess I am picky in that way.  But I did like this one.   Very touching.

It should be nice out today.  I need to decide on what meal to make (in bulk), then go to the grocery store for supplies.  Last night we took our last of the Chicken Tomatillo soup out of the freezer, to be eaten for tonight's supper (or "tea," as the Aussies call it!).

Have a good day and evening!

Today I found my spare car key in a pair of shorts in my dresser.  You may remember I lost my keys last year and couldn't find my spare so I spent $900 on two keys...both of which have since been found.

I remember watching "A Trip to Bountiful" from Blockbusters when it come out on video.  We all remember those.  Trivia, at the time she had the most nominations for Best Actress without a win when she finally won an Oscar for this role.  Glen Close has since surpassed her with 8 nominations without a win.

Dianah, bowling has been a bust and we are in 10th place out of 14 teams.  Last week of the season is tomorrow so we'll see what our final position will be.  Meh....

It's hot here in the upper 80's.  After a very un-vegan and un-healthy lunch we sat on the beach for a few hours.  Lots of people at the beach today.

At the grocery store I sure craved Boston Baked Beans (the candy!).  Didn't find 'em.  Oh well.  Better for me not to have them.

Tweety, what bliss to sit on the beach with a full tummy and watch ppl go by!  Hi to George!  Glad you found your keys, but yanno, they COULD have shown up before you bought the new ones!  Too bad about the bowling stats.  Good you enjoy the sport, that's what counts (don't give up your day job, yes?).

I did my grocery run, and the groceries are all put away.  Tomorrow I will cook.  Today I took my filthy dirty car to the car wash and then detailed it.  It looks a lot better than it did!  It sits outside (dh's is in the garage), so gets dirtier than I like.

Later!

cough, cough. Intermittently rainy day. Not so good for Easter egg hunts. There was a long enough break to get out for a nice long dog walk. I worked on creating a notebook for the rose garden that I am now the lead of, tracking the various roses, timing of fertilizer, pest control. I wish I had an app that I could diagram the roses to track location. I tried on grid paper, but I made a big mess of that. I've tried one free app, but it's rather clumsy. And I'd like to be able to print out the diagram.

I did a little work in the yard, pruning up a bush and chopping it up for the compost tote. I finally used the window squeegee system I got at the flower & garden show. It wasn't quite as smooth as the salesperson made it look, but it's not too bad. The dogs make a mess of the french door that they go in and out. And there was just general grime on other windows. I'll work on the outside if the weather is decent tomorrow. I watched a movie on Apple called Palmer that I liked, with Justin Timberlake.
