I was just wondering if anyone else was going to accept ELAC's offer, I was reading the past threads on ELAC and I've seen some things that I didn't like about the program..

I accepted other program instead of ELAC.

Yep! I'm currently waiting on three other schools, but only one may or may not get back to me before ELAC's deadline; Did you end up accepting ELAC's offer?

I think I'm going to go ahead and accept ELAC's offer for now. Since the other schools might not get back until June or July, it makes sense to secure a spot at ELAC..

Hi, I know it's been a while, but I was wondering if I could ask you for your thoughts on ELAC's program currently? I saw that you posted in a few ELAC threads before, which I've read through, but I was wondering if your thoughts on the program have changed since then? The articles you posted in the previous semester's threads have me a bit worried about ELAC's program as well..

Hey, ask me anything you'd like.
As far as my thoughts on the program, I would say it's about the same. Your on your own, the faculty is not going to change the curriculum to fit the students needs. It really comes down to you and how well you can study. Also if you already accepted enrollment, I would be proactive, email the teachers for the syllabus, start READING NOW, because let me tell you first semester is the hardest because overall your juggling 3 classes in a semester, on top of skills, and clinical days and paperwork. Be prepared when you come to class, the teachers there are there to supplement your reading and learning, they are not there to teach you the material. With the exception of Mrs. Merino (who is amazing at lecturing and explaining things), everyone else gives you that *** answer of its in your book. If you have her for Funds and Funds/clinicals, you'll be in luck, focus on what she lectures and record her, shes the only fair instructor I know. As far as Pharm, they switched the instructor so IDK whose teaching it now, they've switched a few teachers around because of student complaints, but overall if your determined and focused, you can do it all on your own.
Don't burn yourself being a superstar during clinical, like yes do a great job be proactive but don't overdo it because your exams will pay the price for it. Meaning your going to be so exhausted the next couple days you might not focus on your studying and if you fail your exams, the way you performed in clinical doesn't matter. The grade is what matters.
Also I wouldn't hope that going to another program is easier because I've heard there all about just as hard. The only positive benefit I got from ELAC now, is that were only graded on exams, which is good and bad.
Good because you only focus on studying for exams, you don't spend that much time doing assignments that require your super attention to get a good grade.
Bad because when you need those 5 or 10 extra points there is no way to get them. There is no homework thats graded for extra credit, no quizzes, maybe 1 or 2 presentations first semester. So getting a high grade on your first exam is crucial.
Oh! And as far as the articles go, I mean, take it with a grain of salt. Ultimately, you want to focus on yourself. If you're nice to the teachers, they'll be nice back. If you're rude and cause disruption, they will do the same for you. Also, pick one or two people to study with—no more than that—because you will get distracted and waste time. It's okay to cut people out if they're wasting your time, especially if they're passing and you're not.
