East Carolina University College of Nursing (ECU) CRNA 2025

Published

Hi friends! Anyone applying this round for the CRNA program? I don't see any recent info but would love to get a thread going for those currently applying 😊

Anyone know when interviews are typically held / if they are in person or online?

Any insight on what the school prioritizes in its candidates / what to expect from the interview?

Anyone currently enrolled in this program & would you recommend it if so? Any advice for current applicants?

Thanks in advance & good luck to all!!

Yeah, getting the question right or wrong means nothing. It's all about how you respond to adversity.

Do you know if the GRE supersedes GPA in the scoring process ?

I personally don't think neither is super important after they extend the invite. The interview is the real test. Were you active on your unit, were you active in looking for educational opportunities after your BSN, your certification, do you handle the stress of the interview and lastly can they sees you as someone that is teachable. It was people during my interview that bragged about their GPAs (3.8-4.0) and GRE (315+) score and none of them made the class.

I know they all say it, but I really feel like this program does a comprehensive review of the person. I just had an interview so far, but talked to the director and after chatting with him, and the interview process I feel like they take a look at all the things to form am opinion of the person and if they will be a good fit for the program. Just an opinion though, can't say for sure what gets people in.

Yeah, it is not an exact science.... I felt like they rank their top 15 applicants and you can bomb the interview and fall out of a seat. I kinda knew I got in as I was walked out of my interview just by this conversation about relaxing, its going to get harder in the next couple of months when classes start.

From my understanding, there is one more day of interviews (Tuesday the 22nd) and I think the director said that we would know next week following that interview day? I maybe misheard (definitely very possible with the state I was in) but this would make sense.

Same! Congrats to all who are accepted!! I'd love to hear the stats for those of you who were accepted // or from anyone who felt their stats weren't particularly impressive but had a good feeling after their interview!

After you get an interview invite, your grades and scores really don't matter. My cumulative GPA according to NursingCAS was a 2.77, last 60 credit hours 3.2, BSN 3.8, science GPA 3.4. GRE 303 but my resume is extensive, volunteering hours and a lot of high level science/graduate classes well beyond the average applicant.  According to my stats I should not have gotten in. It's about overall resume, the INTERVIEW, and if they can see that your are teachable. Don't beat your self up over one application, they have such a small class the odds are not in anyone favor. I think some luck is thrown in there as well....

Just checked and I'm accepted! I figured they would send a physical letter since the application was paper. I can honestly say I did not think I would make it in this cycle. I already planned to retake classes to improve my GPA for next year. Looking forward to this next chapter in life!

I also got my acceptance letter October 25! The interview felt like an interview, but also like a typical conversation. I agree with what Pirate_Nation34 said ^ .   I was generally prepared, as it was my third CRNA school interview, but I had a really good feeling after the ECU one. I look forward to meeting my future classmates!
