All you working nurses, which field(s)/specialties seem to be easiest to get work in straight out of nursing school? I would assume LTC, /Corrections & HHC are three because I see a lot of new grads posting about getting first jobs at those places. Any others?

Are you am LVN or RN? In my area, where I'm a working new grad LVN, most people work in SNFs. Some RN new grads work in them, also just to get their 6 mos to 1 yr experience before leaving for a hospital.
As for me, I've worked 2 subsets of LTC as a new grad: assisted living and psych.

I see a lot of home health and LTC/SNF positions on Craigslist, and was offered a position in psych (in addition to the one in postpartum I told you about in your other post). From what I've heard from people, a lot end up in LTC for a bit, and it has very high turnover. You never know, though, what will be available when you graduate, and you may end up with something you like (even if it's not your end goal of L&D). I was surprised by some of the areas I did and didn't like in nursing school!
@vintagemother I am pre-nursing planning on getting my RN. I am interested in L&D but I am researching the best opportunities of employment once I graduate since I've read & been told that L&D is hard to land a job in right out of nursing school. Thanks for the tips & advice :)
@runbabyrun thanks for your wisdom & great advice, it is very appreciated and I am taking it all in :)
CaliStudent....I know a lady whose kids went to school with my kids...she graduated with a BSN ~2012 and was able to land a job in L&D as a new grad. I think it is possible. She was hired in a unit she had clinicals in and possibly precepted at.
