Eager to graduate

Hey all....I have 7 weeks left before I graduate and I'm so eager to be done it is unbelievable. I have already accepted a position in OB. I'm having a hard time staying focused because I already have a job in the field of nursing that I want. I know I have to pass my last two classes to graduate so I think that is what is keeping me going. My very last class in my rotation is OB so that won't be a problem. Right now I'm precepting and I'm having a hard time focusing on my patient care because I'm not passionate about med-surg nursing. Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do?

Oh good lord yes. I , too, have 7 weeks left and I am the BIGGEST procrastinator right now. I have accepted a position in the NICU and my last 7 weeks are Renal/Neuro/Oncology/Emergency/Management. I couldnt feel any more DONE right now then I already do. I am DREADING going back on Monday ( we are off this week between mini-mesters). We took our final yesterday and I swear I felt like I had a CVA right in the middle of it. It's like I could feel synapses in my brain just smoking. Haha. I hear you...I am DONE. DONE...... in 7 more weeks. What I do is remind myself everyday that EVERYDAY is ONE DAY CLOSER to the end.

Let them fly by fast please.

Good luck to you...I'm right there with ya.

Specializes in Urgent Care.

I'm there too!! I have one more day of clinical, then onto preceprtorship in the ICU :) I have a job interview Friday in med/surg and am excited yet scared about starting this new chapter in my life- practicing as an RN!

Specializes in SICU, MICU, CICU, NeuroICU.

I know the feeling. I hated my psych rotation. I have zero interest in working as a psych nurse. But don't let something that you don't like hold you back. Stay focused, because if you gof-forbid don't pass then you have to do that rotation over again and that really won't be any fun.
