Hi guys! I have been accepted into d'youville's nursing program and I start in spring 2016. I would love if any past or present students can share their experiences with me. How did you find the classes( hard, ok if you study, information for the classes were on the actual tests). Cost of living. Living on or off campus? Did it work for you? I am very excited to start and I know it's gonna be a lot of work and dedication so any information that can be of assistance to me will be greatly appreciated. I am also moving from nyc, so if there's anyone that moved to buffalo as a nursing student or who is from buffalo or the surrounding areas can share their living/adjustment experience with me I would love that. Also if you will be starting in the spring of 2016, feel free to say hi so we can get acquainted. Thanks.
I do t think they have a cut off period or set time to send out acceptance letter. I recently spoke to someone and they were accepted the Friday and the semester started the Monday. For me, I applied in August and got my acceptance in September. The school is becoming very popular and people are coming from as far as California and Oregon to attend so it might take a while or might be on short notice. My friend got accepted this summer and she was told she would not be able to start until next fall (I do find it strange though). What you can do is call them from time to time and check on the status of your application.
btw, last question before I leave you alone. Did you submit any letters of recommendations or do the essay portion when you submitted your application? I have a 3.5 cumulative GPA and a 3.15 prereq GPA with a 80% on the TEAS V exam. Do you think it's necessary I provide a letter and essay or do you think I'll be good with the current numbers I have at the moment.
I just got my acceptance letter in the mail for D'youville BSN program yesterday! It says I am admitted for fall 2017 but will begin my clinicals Spring 2018? I am excited but a little apprehensive because I would have to relocate from California. I am considering taking a trip to visit the campus and the area to see if it feels like a good fit. I am NOT used to cold weather AT ALL though, so that also makes me a bit nervous. Does anyone have any information about the program? If you graduated from it, how did you like the program? What were their clinicals like? Does anyone know the NCLEX pass rate, or job placement rate? I would be moving back to California after graduation and am concerned about being about to find a job with a degree this college. I appreciate any information
I applied only a couple months ago and just got my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday! It seems a little too good to be true, how easy it was to get in. I have a 3.5 overall GPA, with a 3.75 GPA for the prerequisites and I got a 93% on the TEAS. I did also submit 3 requests for letters of recommendation, but I don't know if any of the professors actually submitted them...
I didn't bother with the essay though. From what I have read, it seems like they have a pretty high acceptance rate...

Tuition is dependent on your financial need. I take whatever financial aid gives me and the rest i pay out of pocket ( i work overnights). One of my friends receive a lot of grants because of her financial situation so it depends on the individual. Because of the way the classes rn ( in sequence), you would have to be there for at minimum 3 years, depending on what classes you need such as chemistry and micro. good luck
