Hi All! I've been a member of the community for some time, but usually only read threads for the great advice and stories. I have never posted anything of my own.. until there was NCLEX!
I took the exam this morning and it shut off after 75 questions! At that point I didn't know whether to be relieved because I finished in 75 questions or to cry because there were no more questions left and nothing else I could do at that point! Initially I felt the questions were high level questions, but became alarmed because many seemed to be lower level questions. I had several Select All That Apply, 1 where you put steps in order, several priority questions, etc. I was concerned when I saw a medmath question, questions regarding side effects of meds and nutrition questions... are these low level? Can I still pass with both high level and low level questions?
I left the testing center in a whirlwind of emotions... I was upset, disappointed, nauseated and ultimately felt defeated. I have heard from many classmates and friends that "MOST" people who finish in 75 questions pass, but right now it feels impossible to believe that I passed. Do people that finish in 75 have a good chance? Does anyone know the fail rate? Any advice on dealing with these next 48hrs before results are in?!?
Any advice, thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated...

Hang in there, the exam is over and stressing whether you pass or fail will not make any differences. Hang in there whilst waiting for your results and good luck.
If first time sitting exam and trained in the US then looking at over 80% to pass

I have a very strong feeling that you passed. I passed 2 weeks ago after failing 3x and I too stopped at 75. The way your explaining your test is very similar to a person that has passed. I had 10 sata and one where I had to put the steps in order. Congratulations on passing the NCLEX because you did pass.

i sat for the nclex two days ago and stopped at 75 as well. mine was just like yours, and it seemed like i was taking a PHARM test. i am honestly weak at meds but i guess i expected for the worst so i could say i came in prepared for the meds part. i also had diet and nutrition. and i realized just now, those aren't low level questions. they come in "coma-coma" and i believe it's supposed to make you critically think which among the given are under whatever food category, or if it's safe for the client to take, and their diagnosis is also something to think about when answering these diet questions, correct? but just that's my opinion.
anyway. i too had the infamous pop-up everyone is getting, and i'm keeping my fingers crossed. try it, it'll help you feel less anxious:) goodluck and congrats in advance! :)
Congrats on passing, Jarlesha!! It must feel great!
I'm still anxiously waiting over here... I keep thinking of bits and pieces of questions, despite that I know there's nothing I can do at this point. In the meantime I tried the Pearson "trick" and after entering my info I got a pop-up that said "our records indicate that you have already scheduled this exam. please contact the member boards... you can not re-register at this time." Is that the message that I should be getting? Is that a good thing?!
Bodzenjerzie, when will you be getting your results?
I PASSED!!!!! I found out the great news today. I also tried the Pearson Trick and it worked for me. Thanks to those who were supportive.. this is such great news and I'm so relieved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahaha. that's funny =) i'm an august test taker and i agree with you. i honestly have been lurking around before my test date but not everyone has something to say :) ... post nclex though, i just could not put things together so i missed the part of sharing what came out from mine.lol
took the test on the 10th and passed at 75 by the way :)
oh and goodluck too...! i believe you're a foreign grad like myself:) i had my BSN in FEU and i only arrived in CA earlier this year.
really curious..hahaha..
im from PI too. CCRN in las vegas.
it makes me real happy seeing people pass, mostly. i've read threads about last month's test takers saying most were delegating, prioritizing and precaution/isolation.
i'm just wondering what the august people had to battle through.
nice to see you here kababayan! (kababayan = fellow filipino)
