Hello everyone, I just recently applied to Durham Tech's Fall 2018 ADN program in November 2017. I have fulfilled all the pre-reqs and after attending the last 2 pre-nursing sessions, I found out that the cut-off points for both 2016 and 2017 was 35. I guess it depends on how many applicants they are getting. I am nervous but hopefully I get in. Anyone else applying?
Hi all! In the midst of waiting, I am looking into Watts School of Nursing as a back up. I look at the website and it looks promising. The good thing is that I have a lot prerequisites that can be accepted and they don't have a point system. They look at the overall individual and there's no minimum gpa. requirement. However they have a HESI A2 which I will take a look into studying and the there's no application deadline and they accept students twice a year January and June. So I'll check it out now. I hope things will workout either way, the only that matters is I want to be an RN and I will do whatever it takes.
Good Morning All, Today is the last day people who have been accepted has to confirm or decline their seats. I am optimistic that no what the outcome, I am still determined to become an RN. At first I wondered if it was worth the sacrifice but then n I had time to think and I realize I want this and nothing was going to derail my dreams. Hope this post motivates someone who feels like giving up
Hey 6strings81, I spoke with the admin at Durham Tech and was told I was not offered a seat. Nobody declined their seat and I was told what was the lowest point they accepted. I was disappointed but luckily I have a backup and in the meantime I can work and be mentored by other nurses and when I finally do accepted into a program I have a better advantage than someone who has little or no healthcare experience. Best of luck to you and those who got in. By the way when is your orientation?

Thanks 6strings81:). I am glad that I created this thread.I am hanging on until the end. At least I know there is a chance. As of now those offered a seat have until 4/11/18 to accept or decline. Hopefully those who haven't made or their mind by then should just give up their seats and there might be some open spots left over by 4/13/18. The process of getting into nursing school is brutal but if nursing is your passion and you want to pursue it then it's worth the pain, sacrifice and almost torture. Also believe in my opinion that people should not apply if they aren't willing to put in the effort. Sorry for the long winded post but I wanted to get my point across. If this thread helps people in some way, then I am glad. :)
