Duke Spring 2022 MSN

Published

Hi there,

I thought I would start this thread for people applying for Duke's MSN program Spring 2022. I am applying for FNP and applied early admission since I'm a Duke nurse. Anyone else already have the ball rolling?

I got my invitation yesterday! I’m applying for the FNP program. Has anyone heard anything about the interview process? So nervous!

From what I've read, the questions are mostly situational

I got an invitation today too. Which track are you applying to? I am applying for FNP. Wish everyone luck ?

Im applying to the AGPCP-NP oncology track!

Good luck to everyone who received interviews this week! If you want to share how your experience went or how you're preparing...I'd appreciate it. ?

I just had my interview! My interviewer was lovely and she made me feel relaxed. There was some hiccups in internet connection, which killed me a bit on the inside...so we'll see...I was told 6-8 weeks for the final word!

Had my interview as well today! Interviewer was very nice but that didn't help the nerves as much as I would have hoped! I rambled a little, but was able to answer the questions confidently so fingers crossed! I had to be in my office today and towards the middle/end, it got loud outside of my door despite a sign asking for quiet, praying that doesn't count against me ?

I wouldn't worry too much about the noise outside the door. I was so nervous I straight up was half way through one of my answers when I had to have her repeat the question....Other than that I thought it was pretty relaxed and went really well

I had my interview today as well. I felt comfortable with my interviewer. In the beginning I wanted to show my professionalism and academic history etc.  I realized that he really wanted to know me and my interest so I shifted my focus on telling my true beliefs and goals and maybe I definitely stumbled. One question I answered telling a story from my career and he had to repeat the question as I was not actually giving a situation I struggled with and his question was about a situation I feel I excelled in. So I messed up there, but I think it we let well overall because I stopped trying to perfectly answer and I told my truth. Only time will tell. Either way it goes I am impressed with Duke and I wish you all the best. If you do attend it is a program that as alumni you will have resources for life so I hope you ALL get in!! Congrats on even interviewing! ???

I had my interview today. I had an interview with the FNP faculty, which I applied for.  I think it went well and it went by so quickly. I struggled with a couple of questions. ? I did not make a point of the question very clear. Then she had to repeat the question.? It was my nerves. I hope that will not affect my chance of getting in ?  My interviewer did not smile at all during the interview. She made it very neutral. After I answered the question, she explained about the program. She said the final decision would be post 6 to 8 weeks after the last day of the interview (July 16th). I wish you all luck, Finger super crossed ?

My interviewer was very nice! And asked all situational questions. It went by pretty quickly. I feel like I could’ve answered the questions a bit more clearly, but I’m just going to think positive thoughts. Good luck everyone!
