why dual heads best for starters

why do people say dual heads are better for starters than single heads?

Single heads have both functions in the head, it depends on the amount of pressure you put on the head as to which function you get - diaphragm or bell. So until you become used to the sounds of each its best to have a different head for each.

i see. it dose sound confusing a little bit on how u put it

There are 4 basic classes of scopes.

Single head, Double head, Tunable head, Electronic

We'll talk about the double and tunable head scopes since I feel that is what you are trying to decide upon.

The basic scope is broken down into a diaphram (the larger head, used for high pitch sounds) and the bell (the smaller head, used for low pitch sounds)

The tunable scope combines the two heads into one. The more pressure you apply to a tunable head the higher the frequency of sounds you will hear (diaphram mode) the lighter the pressure the lower the pitch sounds you will hear (bell mode).

Personally I think the tunable heads are easier to use.
